It is sites such as the Visoko Valley in Bosnia which includes the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun that would have them needing to re-evaluate everything that the text books would have you believe to be factual about Earths past civilisations. The pyramid has all the elements: four perfectly shaped slopes pointing toward the cardinal points, a flat top and an entrance complex. On top of the pyramid are also the ruins of a Medieval walled town, once the base of a Bosnian king Tvrtko of Kotromanic (1338-1391) This latest finding from this amazing structure appears to verify that there is enough evidence to conclude that the pyramid pre-dates the Sumerian civilisation by some 20,000 years. So, if this is indeed the case, then we do seem to be at a point in history where books will need to be thrown in the fire so that our actual history can be recorded more accurately to reflect what has been discovered both at this site, as well as sites such as The Pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacan, Mexico (the Bosnian pyramid was given her name “pyramid of the sun” due to her similarities to Teotihuacan). Once again, archaeological findings in recent times have given us food for thought as to how long we have actually been living on this planet. If you carbon date X monument it will give you an estimated date of when the components of said monuments formed, not when the monument was built. Maybe I`m wrong. Someone that has better knowledge on the subject please explain.

The first of these problems is the fact that the original ratio of carbon and radioactive carbon is unknown. The second problem is that the possibility of contamination of the sample over time is quite high. The older the sample the higher the probability of contamination, in fact! What this means is that using carbon dating to date very old samples is really quite impractical given our current level of knowledge and technological capabilities.

I could pick up a rock from my back yard and it would be a few million years old. Do you understand that? It is the organic matter that gets dated. Carbon dating rocks just doesnt work. Having said that the whole Bosnian pyramid stuff is fascinating.
