OP,

If your still here,

I am in The Golden Dawn.

Some quick facts, your initial post, already an occultist and looking to join a group to move further. That was exactly my reasoning for joining and it has been way better than I expected, it's a FRATERNITY of open minded individuals, the curriculum, the friendships, the heavy duty rituals in temple and without...

It's been incredibly wonderful and my first day, first initiation is a day of highlight in my life and one no one ever forgets ;) you couldn't make a better choice IMO. Of course I'm biased but i feel with good reason, I know the other orders/groups too, BOTA, SRIA, OTO (very familiar with OTO and lots of friends there).

As for Enochian, Enochian is of course The Angelic language rediscoverd by John Dee but originally given to Enoch by the great Angel Ave. It is a central part of the Golden Dawn.

The link you posted first post, that's David Griffins side of the GD (I have experiences with them as well), mostly european, generally here in the States, Chic and Tabby Ciccero are our mentors for the most part and this is their website:

[link to www.hermeticgoldendawn.org]

You will find contact information there, be persistent, we don't recruit and you will be checked out in many ways and if deemed of good character and intent, you MAY be invited for initiation. I may be able to help you a bit, may I ask what city you are closest too?

Wow, I'm so glad I posted this thread and then remembered to come back to it! Thanks for the help!

The city I'm in now is kind of irrelevant, because I won't be here for longer and my work is based in the Great Lakes region, Chicago and Michigan. I'm not American and I wasn't planning on staying in the US much longer. I thought it might be fun to learn occultism in Ireland or New Zealand. Some place green and rainy. I know there are Golden Dawn temples there, but I don't know exactly which faction they belong to.

When I was 13 years old, I discovered occultism and faced immense opposition from my strict religious mother and abusive father, to the point where I felt they would do anything to control my mind and I almost committed suicide because I thought it was the only way to escape. It wasn't a matter of mental illness or clinical depression--it was purely due to my circumstance and I only came close once. Then I decided never to let them win. I instead swore to spend my life fighting injustice. Dramatic, I know, but why I mention that is, I had a sustaining fantasy of going to some kind of magical academy on a green, rainy island-nation. Now I'm 18 at last and have left my family. I don't talk to my dad at all and never plan to see him again.

I went to college, because my mom was devastated in the end that she helped ruin my life and turn me into an apparently hard, untrusting, single-minded, hostile person, so she offered to pay for it. I can't stand it and I have so many advanced high school credits that I'll have an associate's degree by the end of the year, even though it's my first year and I graduated from high school early too, so I don't plan on staying for much more. I'm about to buy a small online company with the money I've saved, so I'll be able to go anywhere and not worry about a job...

I thought everything would change the moment I turned 18 and had intellectual freedom, but I'm not spiritually free and still suffer the effects of many traumas I thought I would simply forget. I feel completely apathetic and can't get off my computer. XD

I had all these goals, like being a famous political blogger, starting a corporation, and publishing books on occultism, but I now realize that I've only touched the tip of the occult iceburg compared to everyone else out here in the real free world, and I can't accomplish any of these goals without first developing my willpower.

Ha!

Are you reading the actual words or just what you want to hear, bro...

there is plenty of use for you. Stay independent, and stick to your instincts of what is the true and correct future for humanity....

i know you have had mind infitration and noise operations to keep you bumped out of NOW conciousness....

remember this is the system itself.... it is the system of occult control and it is US vs THEM.

That said, here's a clue from my experience.

Always target the PARADIGM; stay within the realms of the construct; and fictions become as nothing... the attacks to procure fear anxiety and hate step up and become constant, because they DESPERATLY want you to linger in their dictated cognition.

Think 3d, picture the infiltrators in a3 dimensional room or spacial areana; then create the things that exist there.

I personally stay away from use of the word 'ocult' prefering instead 'mystic, mystical, or mysticism.

also stay away from use of the word hermetic, because of the modern connotations of the term, but I like hermes..
hermetic is a loaded term in its modern usage and for this reason I prefer to stay away from it.

golden dawn - i prefer to stay away, no question..

LOL!!!!

There are two different Golden Dawns. One is a right wing greek nationalist political party that started in the 80's or something, and one is an occult order from the 1800's. That article is about the OTHER Golden Dawn.

Can one do online correspondance?

Id like to pursue formal studies; no bs/politics.

Id like to find a mentor; is this feasible?

I seek more coherence; live in mid-west usa

As close as possible to ancient Egyptian school; any's input appreciated

I have time; desire; well-educated; but; materialistically poor.

I am leaning towards the Golden Dawn because it has had the largest influence on Western occultism of any other organization. It is the original. (Eastern occultism is too flimsy for me--great for achieving happiness, peace, or nirvana, but not much else--not enough mystery)

I've considered theosophy, but they don't give much support to the individual member. It's more like a book club or something.

Thelema is kind of hedonistic and conflicts with a lot of my morals, like modesty and sacrifice. Aleister Crowley was a genius, but kind of creepy sometimes...

Freemasons are really shady and tend to be a bunch of old Christian men.

Rosicrucians are too splintered. The Golden Dawn is more intact.

The Golden Dawn is not like a religion and does not impose any morals on you or require that you think a certain way or believe certain philosophies. They just teach you the stuff, provide a close-knit society, and you do what you want with what you've learned. Anything but tell other people... But occult rituals would lose their power if a bunch of amateurs were attempting them without proper initiation. The power is in the secrecy. I know lots of people don't like that, but that's the way it is.

If I find out they're part of the NWO or something atrocious, I will betray them...because that is not what I will have signed up for. Otherwise, never.

I am tired of school, of life, of everything. I have other goals in life (like resistance), but I want to take a few years out and advance through all the levels until I am adept. I'm already an active occultist, but there are certain things you can only learn through an Order.

The problem is, there are several organizations that claim to be the Golden Dawn.

Anyone have experience or know which is the real one?

Why do you feel the need to belong to any group at all OP? Just out of curiosity I am asking.

Why subjugate yourself to ANY occult paradigm tha isnt yours?
 Quoting: Dr.DoomLittle

I just want to learn. From there, I will choose what I believe and how I use it. There's only so much about occultism you can learn in a bookstore or on the Internet...

I think of it as more of a set of practical teachings than a paradigm. The Golden Dawn is far from being a religion that imposes beliefs on people. Some orders like OTO are more like religions though.

Egyptian magikal ritual, particularly in the use of curing disease, were based upon an highly developed comprehension of the humans mind and its action upon the physical constitution.

Should all truths be but half truths of another, like the moon being half truth the sun as feet are half truth hands and male is half truth female. This is key, so to is what is between your shoulders half truth what is between your legs. Consider their function. Just as contained with in man are aspects of his feminine equal. Contained inside both are aspects of the other which relate and perform LIKE function. Consider the brains Two gray matter hemispheres and the penis/pineal gland and the testis/ovary/ left and right hemisphere.

Just like an amethyst brings about a presence a vib of life quite similar to a plant. Consider that. Consider a room filled with man made material things and consider its vib, feeling, aura. But add plants or some type of stone, it will indeed raise the vibration. Quit subtle like a plant.

A three part philosophy of the whole world. The trinity, thrice greatest hermes trismagitus, the father son and holy ghost, en el nombre de padre y el hijo y espiritu santo. 1 alchemy 2. Astrology and then comes the magick.

Being all truths are half truths of another, entering the door of christ is highly recommended. To take upon thy self his example. To desire neither to live comfortably nor become rich, knowing that happiness is greater then riches and happy is he who wonders about possessing NOTHING which requires his care. He who wants to study the book of nature must wonder with his feet over its leaves.

Knowing that man is more then a mere hunk of flesh and bone. But that which the dream shows is the shadow of such wisdom as exists in man, even if during our waking state we may know nothing about it, we do not know it because we are fooling away our time with outward and perishing things and we are asleep in regards to that which is real with in ourselves.

"For they expect the proposal therefore of us, supposing we will straight way teach them to make gold by art or supply them with ample treasure where by they may live pompously in the face of the world. SWAGGER AND MAKE WARS, TURN USURERS DRUNKARDS AND GLUTTONS, LIVE UNCHASTELY AND DEFILE THEIR WHOLE LIFE WITH MANY OTHER SINS.................

but the perverse intentions of these fellows, we understand, out of their own writing, by the singular grace and revelation of God.

WE DO STOP OUR EARS AND WRAP OURSELVES AS IT WERE IN CLOUDS, TO AVOID THE BELOWINGS AND HOWLINGS OF THOSE MEN WHO IN VAIN CRY OUT FOR GOLD.

WHOA UNTO THE GOLD MAKERS

LET THE DIADEM OF THE KING BE PURE GOLD AND THE QUEEN WHO IS UNITED TO HIM BE CHASTE AND EMACULATE. SHOULD YOU OPERATE BY MEANS OF YOUR FLESH, LIKE A FEIRCE GREY WOLF SUBJECT TO WAR LILE MARS AND THE OFFSRING OF ANCIENT SATURN, WHO IS FOUND IN THE MOUNTAINS AND VALLEYS SAVAGE WITH HUNGER. TOSS TO HIM THE BODY OF THE KING AND WHEN HE HAS DEVOURED IT, BURN HIM ENTIRELY TO ASH. WHEN THIS IS PERFORMED,

I have a mentor who was formerly part of the Golden Dawn. You just have to contact one of their temples. They have open house type events where you can meet them if you want.

If you read the Cloud Upon the Sanctuary, you would see the reason to consider joining the GD. It is a path to the secret knowledge.

But its not the only path. The basic work staircase one climbs is always the same for anyone seeking to be a mystic, and there are no shortcuts according to what I know.

The only real occult knowledge is that love and respect is the ultimate secret of how the universe functions.
You want something else, you want permission to bypass love and respect and use some other power source and some other set of principles.

Take your pick of any other secret narcissist clubs if that's your speed. They're all the same, promising you secret entitlements which in fact you really hide out of embarrasment because in the clear light of reality they're just perpetuation of a childish state of existence.

If you want a challenge you don't need to follow someones idea of the Golden Dawn, you need to consider the Golden Rule.

For good reason. Though a more apt term may be 'cult' especially when centered around a particular personality or charismatic individual. They also attract the power-hungry. To explore life's mysteries it isn't necessary to join anything. Access to 'secrets' is often a pretense, a lure.

Secret Societies are never ending rabbit holes designed to keep you coming back for that which they make you believe can only be obtained by paying for their knowledge. No different from tithing in Church on Sundays. That money keeps the Church doors open. It harldy even enters the community to help. Congregation of people with like minded spirituality is fine. Combined spirit work is awesome in fact. When you put a price of make a special club to obtain this knowledge we already were born with it is anything but God Like. God already gave us all the answers. Man lied and said he kept them a secret.

Kelley was a charlatan and Dee knew it and was part of the reason he walked away and never looked back. He knew what Kelley came up with was partly BS. Dee was a genius. Kelley was a con-man. Much Like Crowley. All Crowley did was catalog all that came before and add his own flavor to it. The Book of the Law is a book that promotes Hate towards women that would not bend to his perverted will. Sex is not necessary for manifestation but he sure insisted it was. The Alchemical Marriage of the male and female within is truth, what Christ even taught. Has nothing whatsoever to do with actual physical intercourse. It has do do with turning lead into gold within our souls. Redeeming our own karmic debt. Again Christ taught this. He was an alchemist of the soul and was crucified for it.

Stay far far away from the WHITE Light, and enter the Rainbow. True light is ALL colors not one. ALL.

Re: Anyone have experience with the Golden Dawn (occult order, not Greek party)?
The whole intent of secret societies is for the friendless autistics to find a condition of automatic 'friends' but in the end it's all just adult cosplay with fellow low level narcissists who in fact gather only look for exploitable weaknesses among their own group.
Ritual is nothing more than making the easily available seem special and difficult in order to feel a special sense of accomplishment in doing the simple in some difficult way.
That way you can avoid doing the really difficult stuff.
If that's what you need, that's how you do it.
It's all about pretending the obvious is occult for the low achievement crowd.
In the end the best that can be expected is a sense of superiority where none can be demonstrated, hence it's kept secret lest someone bring up that the occult emperor has no clothes and no objective purpose for that matter.
