^^^ this doesn't mean you can do whatever you want dimwit. It means Jesus will not judge or condemn you based on the commandments because he's paid that price already.

How about you understand what you're talking about before you judge an entire group of people. k thx :)
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7358305

Repentance from your sins listed in the Torah is the ONLY WAY His Sacrifice will be recognise by His Father in stead of your life.

Any sacrifice is an atonement BUT for the unintentional sins. Jesus paid the price but for this kind of your sins. Ponder about very very hard.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25666515

No man accept for Jesus could possibly live a perfect, sin free life. Jesus pays for ALL sins, and if you're going out and murdering people and stealing there's a good chance you were never saved to begin with.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7358305

No, Jesus did not pay for ALL sins. I told you already. Without repentace there is NO mercy for you possible.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25666515

It's is implied that you would already be a saved believer in christ when I said Jesus pays for ALL sins. I agree with you, if you deny Christ and have unrepented sin you are not going to enter his kingdom

Re: Brethren In Christ,How do you interpret the Second Commandment?
Dear fellow brothers in Christ I am curious to know how do you interpret the second commandment :
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

Please reply in a civilized and Godly manner and do not let difference in opinion divide us.

If we are with Christ, we are no longer beholden to the 10 Commandments. If you think otherwise how do you handle the sabbath day?

Because they CLAIM to uphold a book they don't even bother reading. Any Christian who says they're not to follow the law is simple, and they do NOT follow Christ nor the Most High God.

Like the other AC said, if you're not to follow the law, go steal, fornicate, create idols, dishonor your parents, don't keep the sabbath etc. Bunch of ignorant, simple, confused people.

Re: Brethren In Christ,How do you interpret the Second Commandment?
What man among you has not looked on another woman with lust?
What man among you has not hated someone at one point?
What man among you has not put himself first over others?
What man among you has not loved himself more than God and served himself before God?

The law is a very powerful instrument. It shows a man his fallen nature. When a man truthfully looks inside his heart he sees his inability to uphold the law.

Men have the law written in their heart. Placed there by the creator to lead the to The Christ.

Men know right from wrong. Men choose to act for or against such spiritual laws. When a man willingly chooses to go against these, he commits sin. And all men commit sin because it in in their nature.

A man who says he upholds the law is a liar. A man who says he is without sin is a liar. He seeks to please God on his own. He does not come to The Christ for all his needs. He does not see his depravity and fallenness and sinful nature.

This man does not think he needs a propiation for his sin. He believe he can please God with his own merit. He think he can fulfill the law.

He looks to climb in through the window and not go in through the door.

The scripture is clear. Man cannot fulfill the law. The law is contrary to the nature of man. It was established this way. So that an honest man would come to Christ for all his needs.

You are correct, there are a TON of ignorant Christians out there who think that being a Christian only means going to church on Sunday. They have no idea how to be saved or even care to investigate. It's sad because it gives true Christians a bad reputation and makes us all look ignorant.

I agree with you that if you do not follow the law you are not a true Christian. Every Christian should do their best to try to live a sin free life. Are we going to be able to live sin free? No, but that's why Jesus was sent here. He came to save us not to condemn us.

If you are a true believer in Christ you don't have to beat yourself up every time you slip up and sin. Our God is a loving God and will give you many "do overs". If you claim to be a Christian and murder, steal, fornicate, then you were never a Christian to begin with, you were fake and need to study the scriptures more.

Also, I would appreciate it if you understood that there are many people claiming to be Christians who are not, but please don't hold that against true Christians. Most people are just lost. hf

 Quoting: TheWiseOne

He's talking about idols here. Back then they would carve a piece of wood, call it a god and worship it. Their temples were full of such idols of wood, stone and metal. All were idols, false gods.
 Quoting: Lisa*Lisa

THIS

As long as you don't worship it as a god, you can have all the 'images' you want.
Gal 4:16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

Here in America - in GOD we still trust...
Be silent! Be patient! Be quiet!
Be Still! - And know that He is God.

They bastardized christianity which is exactly what Jesus was rebeling against with the jews! You need no other proof than the Sabath which is Saturday and is I AM's holy seal on creation which the Romans have broken. Then the list goes on from there.

Re: Brethren In Christ,How do you interpret the Second Commandment?
You know all those paintings of Christ? The ones that look like the one in this link: [link to watchman.typepad.com]

That is probably what satan will look like when he comes to deceive people.

A graven image is a picture, or a carving

Strong's definition: From the same as G5482; a scratch or etching, that is, stamp (as a badge of servitude), or sculptured figure (statue): - graven, mark.

We cannot worship pictures of false gods, because they are false and all who do will burn in hell if they don't repent.

If people worship the picture of Jesus, then once satan comes he may look just like the man in the portrait, they will be deceived by satan unknowingly.

We don't know what Jesus looks like. People think he has long hair, but the Bible says that men shouldn't have long hair (except for Samson).

The scriptures don't say that. What the scriptures say is that you are not supposed to style your hair like a woman (snoop dogg, kat williams etc)..

Anyhow, scripture does describe Christ, but not the way people want to accept.

Colossians 1:13-16
King James Version (KJV)
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

So Christ is the image of the Most High God.. Here's how Daniel described the Most High:

Daniel 7:9
King James Version (KJV)
9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.

Ok, moving along...

Revelation 1:14-15
King James Version (KJV)
14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

^ Description of Christ.

Here's another one:

Revelation 2:18
King James Version (KJV)
18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;

People would rather accept the image of Cesare Borgia as Christ, than accept the scriptures as they are written.

It doesn't say anything about crucifixes or the like. Moses explained it meant false idols. FALSE. It means the sun, moon, or "aliens" (heavens); cows, trees, or L. Ron Hubbard (the earth beneath (beneath the heavens, not underground)); squids, seaweed, or mermaids (the water under the earth). If you think Jesus hanging on a cross is a false idol then you aren't a Christian.
There are things of such darkness and horror—just, I suppose, as there are things of such great beauty—that they will not fit through the puny human doors of perception.

To carve or fashion an idol of wood or stone (as Catholics do) is to create a demonic magnet for unclean spirits.

God did this because he is a jealous God for the worship of his children Israel and to protect them from unclean spirits.

Many of those who valued the word of God left the Catholic mother (were pushed out in the birthing of the reformation church or excommunicated if you will....)

Catholics have a different Bible than the King James.

This truth of the second commandment has been stripped out of their bible. I learned that as a Freshman at a Catholic college.
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Maybe you should look at the original question and see what I asked because I never said Jesus hanging on a cross is a false idol although it is a symbol of his humiliation and our freedom

Apologies. I should have clarified I was addressing another poster with that part.
There are things of such darkness and horror—just, I suppose, as there are things of such great beauty—that they will not fit through the puny human doors of perception.

I agree about not placing any thrist in an image. Christ was also a Nazarite and they had vows not to shave or cut hair. One must properly divide the scripture to understand it.
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
