my thoughts are now getting to the point where

See...my reaction to people like this is a seething rage that I bury inside. I have to suppress the urge to visit them at their homes at night and put a few rounds into their heads while they sleep. If you get these urges to kill, maybe you can freak them out by saying something psycho to them, make them fear their for their lives, but deny it completely if they report it, then present your recorded evidence of bullying instead.

I quit my job because of a workplace psychopath. He was the assistant manager and a really nasty piece of work. I'm not talking about someone who just yells at someone due to incompetence, I'm talking about a seriously sick motherfucker who gets off on twisted mind games.

I made complaints about him, but nothing was done, so my only option was to punch his face in and face criminal prosecution, or to walk out. So I chose the latter option. The asshole wasn't worth being jailed for. He would have loved that.

Before you leave, take some raw ground beef, open it from the wrapper and start stashing it in above the ceiling tiles, and in the back of cupboards.

the bullying is epidemic in his workplace

and making sure he can still make money

without his other workers suffering in silence

or taking it out on others to release it

like

-their friends family etc etc

i will leave the door open to return thought i doubt i will go back

Get some hard evidence OP .... a hidden video is good, once you have that, go see a lawyer - I reckon there is money in for you - if your that way inclined that is.

good point, in my situation last year EI paying out set it up to turn around and sue for lost income, maybe that is why they called and begged me back to just carry on with it?

I left a job because of bullying by a control freak, they get off on mind games
and will think up ways to upset you and dominate you. Dont get angry and
answer back its what they want, a fight verbally, just smile and walk away
that disarms them more than anything. They just want to feel important
cos I think they are unloved individuals wanting attention.

It was all a huge ego trip, the person controlling and bullying is full of fear
and must have control. To belittle someone else to make themselves feel
big is really a coward behind it all that has no self respect for himself or
others. They have the problem not you.

Do the dignified thing and dont sink to their level, just quietly walk out
and leave, dont retaliate they just get off on it even more because they
have had the power to upset you and get to you.

Dont work for miserable bastards its just not worth it - they will not and
cannot change their behaviour, they will point the finger at you not
realising that the fault lies within themselves and will blame everyone else
but themselves.

I had to quit my church music ministry for very similar circumstances. Yes, I was a volunteer in a Christian organization and suffered this nonsense! I stayed as long as I could out of passion for the music and my well-intentioned goal of fixing the problem for others. In the end, TPTB viciously shot the messenger (me), which seemed easier for them, I guess. Karma, however, has been swift. They have lost a number of committed people who offered so many talents, time, and money throughout the organization (which also describes me). The bully in question has ruffled the feathers of the wife of one of TPTB (oh the drama!). And TPTB have suffered an ego-busting set-back recently in their biggest endeavor to date.

Insecure bullies and petty tyrants exist in every type of organization. I guess it's human nature.

OP, get out and give yourself some time to heal. You don't have to put up with that junk. Sorry to say, it may take longer than you think to detox your psyche. Take care of yourself!

It can also involve threats into your personal life

I knew of a person who had the bullies try to break up a marriage.

This goes beyond work in many cases

Too many sick people out in the work place

Not worth going to jail for, and when you get out, you'll never work again.

I can't even claim unemployment, now I've walked out of my job, so here I am constantly applying for jobs to see what comes up. It's a son of a bitch, but I'm glad I'm no longer around that bastard, and I'm free to apply for jobs and not stuck in a jail cell for the next 3 or 4 years.
