Torn Meniscus - you will need arthroscopic surgery to repair it, as the meniscus is cartilage without circulation and cannot heal itself.

Been there, experienced that - the pain will drive you to the surgical solution, which will indeed make it all better. Except for healing the small arthro incisions, you will come out of surgery essentially pain-free and ready to run a marathon. Seriously.

I don't know about the torn Meniscus. I'm thinking more Bakers cyst. I want to avoid surgery totally.

The Baker's cyst is the clearest indicator of a torn meniscus - and the source of all the pain. I was able to walk up a double flight of stairs to my apt the same day as the surgery when I went home - without the pain!

There is no alternate remedy. The success of the surgery depends on how badly the meniscus is torn. Believe me, the pain will drive you to an MRI and surgery. Just get a good surgeon. As for scar tissue, if you stretch and massage the area going forward, once healed, no problem.

I really hope it isn't a torn Meniscus. It is pretty damned painful but surgery is my last resort.
