Being mean towards each other

Some people just ask for it.

I think they're compensating for something...

But really, it's some kind of twisted need to prove oneself big and bad. A lot of people can't even say something nice without F bombs and other assorted crudities. The world has sunk into barbarism.

Most of it is just playing and joking around...sure there's the occasional lunatic that wants to fight everyone or stalk people, but most of it innocent enough...

I think people use it as a way to poke others into saying something real which in turn makes them feel a spark of their humanity return....

I grow tougher after weaker like most vines, can be deep and shallow like most pools, but GLP is a forest and the ocean of people.

It is the state of our society today. It is the me, me, me, syndrome.
No one is allowed a different point of view, or they are attacked. People feel "right" and if you do not agree with them, they automatically think that means you believe they are wrong, so they attack to defend how "right" they are.
If people realize there is no right and wrong, and learn to tolerate others opinions, perhaps the world will improve.
It is my belief, if we can't accomplish that, we will destroy ourselves.

Actually, I don't think the problem is believing in right and wrong, I think it's the desire to control others. I affirm everyone's right to freedom of thought and speech, but not to assault, or to define "assault" as disagreement. People should feel free to express their thoughts without being subjected to an inquisition or virtual flogging. And the playing field should be level for everyone; it isn't just religious people doing the assaulting. The anti-religious are no more tolerant or less mean.

Far too many times in my life I have had the axiom "No good deed goes unpunished" prove true. And the blame normally rests with the one being helped.

Hug a cactus enough times....and you learn to not hug cacti.

Everyone has their own opinions and thats what makes each of us unique. We can agree to disagree and get along. People don't have to be cruel though. I understand that it will always exsist, I just wondered what drives some people to be mean. Maybe they only get satisfaction from being mean. Maybe they don't get warm and fuzzy feelings when they are nice to someone. You know, just from helping someone, and not doing it to make themselves feel better but just because. And to top that off, I'd like to say hello to everyone on here today and I hope all of you have a great day and a Happy Halloween, if you celebrate it, and if you don't, then just have a Happy day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

It helps if you are composed of more Teflon and less carbon.
