How many people have 160 IQ

My son was tested at University of Washington and his IQ was 161..He was 4 years old.

when you give a specific number it is a tell that you are lying. you are graded into a bracket, either high or low in the given bracket.

I am the opposite. I am very good at math. My brain can do wonders with numbers.

It's language and conversation I have trouble with.

I wonder why? I wonder what that says about my brain? Does it meanI use my left brain more than my right brain?

Tests given to children are close to useless. Unless you have been tested as an adult, you have not been tested.

Yes, high IQ's certainly does not mean the person will have common sense. Sometimes they are sadly lacking it. I would rather have average intelligence and a high amount of common sense. Wisdom/common sense is more valuable that being extremely smart.

I really wouldn't want to know my IQ. It does put you in a box. It can make someone very depressed or make someone a complete snob.

It's kind of funny, because I've noticed that 160 is about the point where 'really smart' intersects with 'emotionally unstable' and 'has trouble in society'.

140-155 is the highest performing range, imo.

None of us are perfectly balanced. We tend to excel in one area and have much trouble in others. You can always work on your weaknesses. That is something we can all do.

that number was estimated. your score, from what you say, would have been given to you as 130-140 low.

I know one girl who was measured at 166 and her father who measured 178.

Don't know what to tell you, but I was giving a number, and said that I was lumped in with all of the highest....but I WAS given a number. Also, I was 21 years old at the time.

I agree. I was just curious if anyone knew what part of my brain it shows I use more.

I am very good with numbers. Math has always come easy to me without really ever trying.

I am horrible at conversation and trying to convey into words what I have going on in my head. I always feel like I have great ideas, great insight, then it's all lost when I try and put it into words.

simple math is done by the right half of the parietal lobe and the left half does more complex forms of math. so depends on what time of math you are doing at that time.

Interesting. I have always done well in math. From elementary level pre Algebra to Calculus and everything between.

So which part of my brain is responsible for my lack of language skills and thought expression?

I know one person.....He went to MIT dropped out. Found it boring. Was asked by that group (can't remember their name) to join them. Said no until they finally gave up. Just a average person that could discuss any topic in depth :)

135 as a kid but really a IQ test is bull i got high C's low B's in school but went off to college for powersports and was on the honor roll... why because most people can be dumb in some areas but school others in areas that they know (ie cant do trig put put a car or something with a engine in front of me and ill have it fixed no problem wirring diagrams engine re build or whatever) point is no one should be based of a stupid test that proves you can read and wright we all can do it just how far can you go before you need help

i think it is the temporal lobe, the right half is responsible for expressions and skills. i would double check if you want to be sure.

Same here. It was part of my entry into a University that I attended.

But then again, I could be lying...

I was very indepth. Also it was in sections that were timed. I had to wait until the full time was expired to move on. Which lead to it taking long. Also I couldn't sit and do the whole thing at once.

It wasn't a 1000 page test or anything.

I have never heard of that. Maybe things have changed over the years. Back in the days of the dinosaurs, I took a genuine I.Q. test and received a specific number. I was told what bracket the number fell into, of course, but was still given a numerical score. This was a very long time ago; I was only 21-years old when I took the test.

BTW, my score was 130, which means I'm respectably smart, but not a genius.

I think the OP should have asked how many folks have an I.Q. of 140+. If you're looking for geniuses, I think that's more realistic (unless they're inflating I.Q. scores along with all the other test scores these days).

Oh, and online tests are bunk. I've taken online tests for kicks and scored as high as the 150's, which I know is total BS.

I took the official Mensa test and scored 131 which is top 3% of world population as stated in the score letter I recieved! The scores you guys are spitting out here are astronomical, damn can you guys move shit with your minds?
