Just had a conversation with a friend of mine last night, and I reached the exact same conclusion: they first have no moral foundation, and second, they operate and exist as a hive-mind and justifiers of their own existence. "Political positions"... excellent point. It's not about that. At all. We were discussing a friend of ours who has been lost to liberalism, and he's quite irritated with us because he says he doesn't "agree" with us on anything. I then attempted to DEFINE, in my own mind, what it is that he BELIEVES. I realized he believes nothing. They are just abstract liberal footballs, memes, causes, fashions of the day. There is no core belief. He's angry, he's pretentious, he's ostentatious, he's an activist... yet I cannot define a philosophy for which he stands, nor does he bother to attempt to. All he says is that it's a "war". A war. It's amazing how violent and volatile so-called peace-loving liberals often come across as. I told my friend it has nothing to do with beliefs, it has to do with being in the group. He is angry with us, uncomfortable, because we are not in the group. We are outside of the group, as individuals. It makes him really uncomfortable. He talks about how he wants to be around all of these people who "agree" with him. That seems to be his only point. The entire conversation never touched on actual philosophical differences we share with him, he never brought that up. I kept thinking, "This all must center around a fundamental philosophical and political difference he feels separates us. He must feel we just don't agree with him on ethical, moral questions. So I assume we'll be talking about that." Ah, no. It's not about any of that. It gets colored with political positions, and we're confused to believe that liberals, as conservatives, must hold certain, core beliefs and convictions, like we do. Ah, no. Has nothing to do with any of that. It's the difference between the free mind and the individual, and the collective slave-mind, the suckling of Mammon. As such -- and I've mentioned this to my friend many times -- liberals are dangerous, violent, volatile, unstable, unreliable, untrustworthy, flaky, unpredictable, much like a toddler without any discipline or foundation. In my personal relations with them as friends, co-workers, girlfriends, there has never been an exception to the above rule.
