I was planning to retire next year anyway, hopefully there will be a few dollars left in Social Security for me to augment my paltry pension.

For years now (four years, to be exact)I have been thinking about what I would do if he is re-elected. I thought about leaving the country and retiring in Panama or India where my money would go farther. But when I imagined the shtf awfulness that could be on its way, it seemed that at my age I would be better off in my own country where at least I am very familiar with the language, culture, and mind set.

If he is re-elected, I feel very very sad and sorry for this country, and especially for the children who will inherit this mess. Also, I am highly distressed that almost half the inhabitants of this country think Obama is a good man and a good president. Holy cow, there is a sobering thought. They mostly seem to be in the cities, however, so that a small relief. Hope they stay there!

I am looking to buy a small house this year in a rural area on the West coast, and just start living a simpler life. What may come, we shall see. I lived in rural Iowa for almost twenty years and I understand the small town mindset, and I think I can fit in well enough to a rural community. My health is still good. We are prepped to the gills, and will add to our stash as long as possible. My husband knows everything about woodcraft and hunting. I'm just going to get low on the radar and live out my days the best I can.
