What is in your bugout bag?

If you need a bugout bag you are not going to make it very long, as your supply of items will run out. learn what you can do with what is around you. first thing i did was to make sure i could start a fire with only things found in the woods around me. next learn the vegetation in your region to know what all you can use and what you can use it for. after that, shelter. and last learn to hunt with items from only the woods, bullets run out. not knocking any one with one but what happens if you cannot make it to your next location?

crowbar, handgun, big knife, gas mask, candy, lock pick kit, face mask, couple thousand dollars, couple boxes of ammo, a nice rope, a few rolls of duct tape, bible, hatchet, fire starter kit, water purification stuff, anti-diarrhea meds, anti-radiation meds, a copy of Steven King's "The Stand", British SAS survival guide, The Art of War, The Five Rings, some Machiavelli, zip ties, lots of socks, durable gloves, heavy duty boots, thermal underwear, pack of magnum condoms, 2 blankets and a sleeping bag, couple key locks, small heavy chain, bolt cutters, wire cutters, as many lighters as i can carry, lots of matches, MREs for a month, gatorade packs, and lots of tylenol, advil, aleve, ibuprofen.

Oh yeah, let's divulge what is in our bug out bags.

It's a horrible thought, but guys with bug-out shelters already picked out and stocked, what are you doing to assure that they will still be yours when you get to them?

If you know what's there, so does someone else. As much as we like to think we're sneaky, people are pretty transparent most of the time.

Hope it doesn't happen to anyone, but make sure you have a plan, and some basic skills if you have to fall back and build a whole new shelter somewhere else like a state park or something.

Side note:
Don't depend on GPS to make your way to your location. Get a map, topographical would be good because they also show water sources (creeks, rivers, lakes).

One thing I have included in my BoB is an emergency specific stuff sack. One if for nuclear, one is for biological and the third is for natural disaster.

I have heard when all else fails, ham radio will be the last working technology left.

Do you not think it is easy to track WHAT IS SHIPPED from outdoor/survival companies to learn what the hot items are for bugout bags? Or what is shipped TO the outdoor stores from the manufacturers?
