I am sure the people who chose to keep thier horse bitched about the cost of roads being built, but it was for the betterment of all. Take every dime subsidized to oil and allocate it to this research. Wouldnt cost a penny more. "Forcing people to pay obsene amounts" happens everytime you pull up to a gas pump. Normal supply and demand does not apply to big oil. The current price of a barrel does not support the price at the pump. Let me paint a picture for you. You are a inmate (American consumer) in prison and your being raped. There is a line waiting to take thier turn. Big oil is in you at the moment and at the end of that line is Alternative Energy. You cant wait to be fucked by alternatives because you know when they are done the fucking will be over. You are going to be fucked either way, but the sooner its over the better. Siding with big energy as a politician just proves to me that they care nothing about the average American. But it's a lie. It's a lie they created. And people didn't have to have cars. We have to have electricity. We can have it for cheap but a lie was perpetrated and we are going to pay for it. People who had horses paid for roads...just sayin. If peak oil is a lie then we are really taking a pounding. I know coal is much cleaner now, but with technology we can do much better. I am by no means a tree hugger, I am a country boy with a 4x4 and love to sling a little mud and will take a chainsaw to a tree in a heart beat, BUT, these energies are dirty. We can do better and the way BP treated America over the gulf spill is criminal, yet had no consequence. Ever seen oil and water mixed? The power plant on Lake Arlington is a coal plant.... But the government never had a campain saying we must buy cars and get rid of horses because they pollute the enviroment too much and the poop creates methane causing global warming. There were never tax incentives to get people off horses and into cars. Gasoline was also a by product at the time of the distillation of kerosene, and was poured into fields and burned as they did not have a use for it until the internal combustion engine was invented. Government had no hand in things like this back then. The roads came after the autos had taken hold, and at first were state and local endeavers. |
