Why don't Catholic churches have Bibles hanging on the back of the benches with the hymnals?

Because if they did, they would get stolen.

More bibles get stolen from book stores then any other book.

Go figure! Says a lot though.

there are Bibles in Protestant churches so why don't they have them in Catholic churches?....why don't parishners think it odd that there are no Bibles in catholic churches?

The Catholics have never wanted to brainwashed to know what is in the Bible. When they had a monopoly on it they told the stupid masses untold numbers of lies. The priest class are some of the most evil people on earth.

Stolen Bibles is the reason? I would think that any real christian church would be happy to have bibles stolen because they would end up in the hands of the people that need them most. I give them away for free, out of my own pocket, and I'm not a church.

The real reason they don't have bibles is because they don't want you to read them. That's no secret about the catholic church.

They have a book with parts of the Bible (whatever the Vatican says should be read in church). In mass, there is a first reading, second reading and gospel, which is read by the priest to the congregation. There are a bunch of catholic prayers to b read in church, as well.

This, pretty much. The thought was always that you don't need a bible, you need a priest, who's done all the thinking for you.
