The Case of the Missing White Voters - I FEEL LIKE PUKING | |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 6493463 United States 11/10/2012 11:40 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There's no mystery. I know lots of people that didn't like either choice. So guess what? They didn't vote. How is that so hard to comprehend. By the way, a white person's vote isn't automatically a vote for Romney. The title of your thread kind of implies that's what you think. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11758031 Guess what? On October 26, 2012 (2 weeks before the election), Gallup estimated "likely voter" turnout to be 78% white. Final turnout was 72% white. Difference = 7 million voters. You think it's normal for 7 million likely voters to suddenly decide it's not worth voting? No I didn't say the entire white vote would be for Romney. It's BLACK people who vote nearly 100% by race. The white vote split 60-40 Romney-Obama, which if multiplied by 7 million missing votes would have added a couple of million to Romney's total. The question, now, is "In what states was this precipitous drop concentrated?" If you read the article you linked, I don't know about states, but in Ohio the dropoff seemed as much if not more focused on heavily democratic areas. Most likely it's mostly liberal white males who didn't want to vote for Obama for whatever reason (I know a few friends who dislike him for his drone policy.) Remember, his voting total dropped a LOT more from 2008 then Mitt's did. It seems likely a lot of these lost votes were ones he carried in 2008. [link to www.thegatewaypundit.com] "I think what we’re seeing is a lot of spin and hype on the part of the Obama campaign to try to make it appear that they’re going to cruise to victory in Ohio,” Cuyahoga County Republican Chairman Rob Frost said. “It’s not just Cuyahoga County. Nearly 350,000 of those voters are the decrease in the rolls in the three largest counties, Cuyahoga, Hamilton and Franklin.” Yes, the spin and the hype and the polls and the Nate Silver phenomenon were all just cover for the operation. Dead people voting. People voting multiple times. Illegals voting. |

Phillip J. Fry User ID: 1565986 United States 11/10/2012 12:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Can you guys just not do this anymore. Enough. Get over it. Please just give the whole world 4 years of peace and quiet for a change. Quoting: TrinityMountain Its done over finished. Move on with your lives. Time may be short. Enjoy whats left. The rest of us are going to puke if we have to hear about much more of this. People don't care anymore thats why they didn't show up to vote. Get it. The "peace and quiet" you speak of will be here soon enough. It comes from the grave. WW3 looms and nobody has the mental acuity to learn from history. FYI , History "re-learned" is a Bitch. . "Don't do anything that affects anything. Unless it turns out you were supposed to do it, in which case for the love of God. Don't not do it!" |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 6493463 United States 11/10/2012 03:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thread: Turnout Breakdown for the 2012 Election. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11208970 Here is a breakdown of where your missing votes came from. Just so you know, whites only made up 74% of the 2008 vote, and we tried to tell you that the Gallup model was flawed. Dick Morris told us this is the first time in history an incumbent president's margin shrunk over the challenger and he still won the presidency. Obama led by 7 points in 2008 and 1 point in 2012. First time in the history of elections for president this happened and the incumbent didn't lose. For an incumbent's margins to shrink that much, he is not well liked. That has always in the past meant defeat. But real clear politics has overplayed its hand, I think. How could they possibly know what percentage of whites, blacks, hispanics, and asians voted and for whom they voted? Where did they get that information? Nobody asked my race when I voted. And, my vote is private. I guess when you are writing the story, you can write the ending as well. Exit polls. |
