why does god and the devil argue?
if enough of us wrote letters and asked them to make up, will they listen or continue this petty fighting? nothing brings a soul down more than grudge holding and it would be nice to have a positive example of being above little arguments and stuff.

imagine god's next book without a bad guy. someone needs to not throw stones in a glass condo.

Satan is the Accuser of christians before God's throne... But He'll Be Cast Out Soon and Thrown Down Here!

And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.

14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.

16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters ~Genesis

The Spirit of God moved over the smoking mirror and in experiencing the sensation of I, saw the Not I. Thus is born the duality of Order & Chaos.

Re: why does god and the devil argue?
6Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. 7And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. 8And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? 9Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? 10Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. 11But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. 12And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD. Job 1

Re: why does god and the devil argue?
Look at it this way:

Imagine a game of tetris. God is the game designer, the devil is a frustrated player. "why can't it all just be the long thin pieces every time? why put in the weird shapes?"

And god says "because that's the point of the game"

so the devil says "but you made it - you could make it so everybody always wins!"

And god says "but there's no fun in it if everyone always wins!"

and the devil says "but losing causes suffering; you've made the game such that it makes the players suffer!"

and god says "but if they won every time, they wouldn't play in the first place!"

This argument goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on...

Re: why does god and the devil argue?
in short, the devil refuses to accept that god has made the world as good as it can be, and that's his nature.

So what's the point in the devil? Well, being an omnipotent omniscient being, it would be pretty boring if everyone just agreed with you 100% (as is rational) - so he kills two birds with one stone:

1. He has the devil to debate with

2. He can laugh at the futility of the devil's arguments.

The devil is both his discussion partner and at the same time colossal joke.

Re: why does god and the devil argue?
Uh. it's people arguing. Arguing about fuckall because there is no god, there is no devil.
It's the most pointless waste of time to argue about a nothing when there are real and interesting things in the world to debate.
Books, videos, lectures, seminars and fuck knows what else (money!) all in the name of something that simply does not exist...
