Let's do some fact checking here. Let's count the number of nursing homes in Texas.... There are 1,191 nursing homes in Texas. [link to www.statehealthfacts.org] All filled to capacity I am sure just like every other state in America. NOW, tell me this. It is great that YOU take care of your elderly - NOW I want you to teach everyone else in your state to do the FUCKING SAME. Good luck with that. And please don't push all of your government medicare recipients to the surrounding states. This won't likely fair well. Ignorance is bliss until reality bites you in the ass. I take care of the dead...always. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 25231741 United States 11/11/2012 09:36 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Texas has been sucking up more tax dollars than they are have been paying into the federal troth for years, so good riddance. I would also make sure that a passport and Visa is required to travel either way. AND; Don't look to the USA for defending your sovereignty. I would suggest forming a pact with Mexico for that... |

That is why Texas begged to be admitted to the Union in 1845. They could not fight back effectively against Mexican military incursions. They didn't have much success against Comanches either. Since Texas voted for Romney, it looks like entire state may just pick up and leave. The Texas Nationalist Movement, a group very interested in getting Texas to secede from the nation, says membership has been booming since Tuesday. The group says Texas would be fine on it's own if we just kept all of the tax dollars we send to the federal government. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.” – Carl Sagan |

Yeah, and Mexico is dealing with their own Problems, they have quite a Few Drug Cartels who are Trying to Overthrow the Mexican Government, So I doubt Mexico would invade. And There are around 9 Militias in Texas and all those Nukes, Tanks Troops and other Equipment would Belong to the Texas Government, So, I don't think Texas would have a Problem if Mexico Invaded. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 21064711 United States 11/11/2012 10:02 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am a Texan lefty liberal. And I have always been a better TEXAN than American. I have no qualms with my state seceding the nation as I have thought my entire life that it should. I in no way plan to leave. We protect our own much better in the Lone Star State and have always been good about relying on our own sweat blood and tears than those of others. I will be more suprised to see our American borders more open to immigration than our Mexican border if this ever came to pass. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 14392840 United States 11/11/2012 10:14 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It won't pass. Everyone on social security, welfare and getting federal grants and federal employees would vote against it. Wouldn't they have to move out of texas to get their social security? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1040255 If everyone in Texas started paying taxes to Texas instead of the idiots in D.C. there would be plenty of money for Social Security. Most of the Welfare people who are just sucking the tit would GTFO of Texas and the Federal employees could go to D.C. and beg. If you wanted welfare out, youd have to bring back the factories to American soil and have Texans make their own stuff and then.... what do you know.... so many people would prosper again, reaching middle class level.. MADE IN AMERICA , that is not fair to Walmart ! nor to Corporate CEO salaries that are used to millions of dollars. Is a American CEO willing to make only Triple that of his lowest worker instead of the millions hes used to making?????? I dont think so... Bless American CEOs who employ Americans. (not as min wage cashiers or stock boys, dont count) I know youre struggling to make the profit and give Americans jobs. I still root you on all the way.. |

[/quote Texans have more individual freedoms than any other citizen of the United States. For decades we have been watching those freedoms be chipped away by people who are not our neighbors friends and family.I voted for Texan Ron Paul not Romney because he was the ONLY candidate willing to stand up to the Central Bank to protect a humans inherent rights and freedoms whether they are Texan or otherwise. Bless the governments little heart. I hope Texas finally secedes. |

Quoting: Watching the world They're called "Their children", you libtard asswipe. You are a fucking asshole. The truth hurts doesn't it? Children don't give a shit about their parents these days. Good luck with that you piece of shit. Get the liberal trash out, and our family values will return. Liberal trash is Godless and have no concern about their future, past, and no morals. If Texas leaves the union, they will have another southern family moving in to enjoy the Liberty. We have God, guns, and morals in our family; more people added to the population to counter the crime rate and contribute to society. |

Watching the world User ID: 21685109 United States 11/11/2012 10:36 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The citizens can take care of the elderly that the family will not. We do have private charities in this country, and once we get the Feds hands out of our pockets, then we will have more to help with. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22421920 That's how it should have been in the first place. Nursing homes are sometimes paid from families who have enough to cover their family member's care. Most patients in nursing home facilities however, receive their Medicare benefits from the government which pays for their care. For those who are not lucky enough to have a back up financial plan to pay for their care, perhaps Texas will devise a plan to somehow come up with the funds to pay nurses and care givers who will also need a steady pay check in order to live. Can't wait to see what happens next. Oh yeah, and let's not forget the "mentally challenged " and disabled patients in mental facilities. Since the government won't be paying for that either, let's see how well Texas fairs in taking care of both of these groups of people. Ignorance is bliss until reality bites you in the ass.
