I understand Bill (Don't antagonize Hilldog) and I understand Kennedy (the publisher had an affair w/ Caroline) but wouldn't Eisenhower be the perfect comparison (General's war-time affair w/ a service woman and all)? Eisenhower is on the list. His nickname was "Ike." Thanks I skipped right over it... So then we understand the glaring omissions - don't want to make Caroline or Hillary angry... Right. Interesting. I guess they don't think people are smart enough to figure out who's missing. ______________ As long as I am an American citizen and American blood runs in these veins I shall hold myself at liberty to speak, to write, and to publish whatever I please on any subject.” - Elijah Parish Lovejoy(1802-1837) All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent...Thomas Jefferson The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government...Thomas Jefferson When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty...Thomas Jefferson Truth will ultimately prevail where there is pains to bring it to light...George Washington |

Even if you believe the BS explanation on why the FBI investigated the CIA Director's personal e-mails, why would this become public? Both the FBI & the CIA know (and do) plenty of things we never hear about... Checking one woman's e-mail after another woman complains would take very little time. Once they realized that this woman was Petraeus's official biographer (so they had a legitimate reason to be exchanging e-mails) - it should have stopped. Presuming they had a legitimate reason to then hack into his e-mails, once they realized that no criminal activity had occurred, it should have stopped... There was no whistle blower in this case....There was no reason we ever should have found out about this. I agree - This is not about an affair. Wonder who the dirt diggers report to? . The FBI approached the CIA director because his emails in the matter were in most instances sent from a personal account, not CIA account... House intelligence committee chairman Mike Rogers, R-Mich., and ranking member Dutch Ruppersberger, D-Md., will meet Wednesday with FBI deputy director Sean Joyce, and CIA acting director Michael Morell to ask questions, including how the investigation came about... CIA officers long had expressed concern about Broadwell's unprecedented access to the director. She frequently visited the spy agency's headquarters in Langley, Va., to meet Petraeus in his office, accompanied him on his punishing morning runs around the CIA grounds and often attended public functions as his guest... As a military intelligence officer in the Army Reserve, Broadwell had a high security clearance... Petraeus' staff in Afghanistan similarly had been concerned about the time Broadwell spent with their boss on her multiple reporting visits to the war zone. Following standard military procedure with senior officers, they almost always had another staffer present when she met with him at his headquarters, though they did have some meetings alone. Military officers close to him insist the affair did not begin when he was in uniform.... Congressional officials say Petraeus' deputy, Michael Morell, will testify instead, as acting director of the CIA. [link to m.apnews.com] |

So, there wasn't even a "misuse of gov't assets" Hacking into his home computer to see if he had been "spoofed" And the alleged "spoofing" wasn't a business opportunity from the CIA Director or even Penis pills from Petraeus... It involved a series of explicit e-mails sent between Petraeus & his official biographer... Someone he had a legitimate reason to contact.... They were really going after this guy... Check it out, [link to www.wnd.com] Wow, I didn't know it wasn't the consulate that was attacked. That guy wasn't really an ambassador, was he? Is that a joke? I'm bad at detecting sarcasm, which is really ironic b/c I am extremely sarcastic... Just in case you weren't joking - Two US compounds were attacked that night...The CIA station and the US Consulate. There is no legal definition for the term consulate. It is an ancillary diplomatic mission (not the official embassy). Before the NTC (Libyan Rebel Gov't) officially moved to Tripoli (from Benghazi), in October 2011, the US maintained a special mission to the NTC in Benghazi. It wasn't called an embassy (even after we recognized the NTC). There were numerous security issues in Tripoli after the official move, so the NTC leadership often stayed in Benghazi... For this reason, the US needed to keep a diplomatic facility (call it whatever).... The idea that Benghazi was safer than Tripoli was shattered when protesters stormed the NTC headquarters (and looted it) while acting NTC President MAJ (Mustafa Jalil) was trapped in the building. There are pictures of him looking out a window scared sh*tless as protestors/looters stormed the grounds. I heard the leadership hung out in Turkey for awhile after that...they were out of sight for a few weeks. When they came back they were in Tripoli. Their offices and the new Libyan legislature (the GNC) are stormed weekly. There is a good chance that Libya will split into several countries. If that is the case, the first new country, Barqa, will have Benghazi as its capital. So, it's - good idea to keep a Benghazi mission open... Sorry to digress. I just wanted to say whatever you call it, there has been a need for a diplomatic office in Benghazi for the last almost two years now... BUT the part about the CIA supplying weapons and fighters to Syria is correct. |

Petraeus was triggered when a woman with whom he was having an affair sent threatening e-mails to another woman close to him, according to three senior law enforcement officials with knowledge of the episode. The recipient of the e-mails was so frightened that she went to the FBI for protection and help tracking down the sender, according to the officials. The FBI investigation traced the threats to Paula Broadwell, a former military officer and a Petraeus biographer, and uncovered explicit e-mails between Broadwell and Petraeus, the officials said. . . . [link to www.washingtonpost.com] Why did Petraeus send Broadwell a photo of him and Jolie taken in a very secure location. He was taunting his ex-mistress, I think. So, whether Jolie and Petraeus were having an affair, Paula Broadwell could certainly have imagined it and began sending Jolie nasty emails. The real questions are why was Angelina Jolie in Petraeus's office to begin with and why did the media print that little detail? |
