Re: Sea Level Rise Accelerating For US East Coast, Fastest Rise in The World!
C: What about astral travel during sleep? I go to a local theosophy group and heard members discussing their sleep meetings with each other, and what was on the agenda! I had another friend up here dreaming about 2012 events and was worried because only her two young kids were with her, the oldest two couldn't get there from Brisbane so they could all be safe on the mountain. Something was blocking the roads and there was lots of water, more than in the floods....

C: A lot of people up in Maleny Montville areas have had dreams of terrible tsunamis and they're busy buying extra food. I've had numerous people telling me we're going.to be an island surrounded by water. People from all walks of life. It's disconcerting.

J: indeed, c! we're finding a lot of us are having similar dreams...thank you for sharing that!!!! one of the reasons i started this group is exactly that...to connect with each other and watch for patterns.

C: The local theosophy groups are full of like minded people. I'm not a member, but I go because I find out about all this stuff. I call it spiritual fine tuning. If you ever wake up paralyzed in your bed like I have, it means you've just astral travelled somewhere and are falling back into your body, it can be quite scary but we all do it.

J: the paralysation can also be connected to liver imbalance. you can look it up in traditional chinese medicine...here: [link to www.tcmstudent.com]

J: also, i go to forums fairly regularly and people there are very doom-focussed so they have a lot of 'dreams' that relate to that, but i find those are not very reliable because those folks are so steeped in 'doom expectation' it can definitely influence dreams. so, hearing the same thing from other sources who are NOT a part of that sub-culture is very important to me.

C: I lived at New Brighton beach in Christchurch from the ages of 9 to 12. I had terrible tsunami nightmares while living there. Then we moved to Redcliffs, where the school is now closed. I felt a bit better because we lived on a hill. It wasn't nice. So when the quakes came, I wasn't remotely surprised. I was expecting them all along. I now live 450m above sea level, inland. My gut has always told me not to live on the coast.

J: yeah, last year all that beach disappearing into that huge sinkhole...australia i think...i don't particularly care to live on the coast either, though i love it and grew up on the coast. :(

C: Yes up near Hervey Bay or Rainbow Beach. So you can understand why I now believe in earth changes and seek like minded people. Plus there are organic farms up here, we have our own local dairy, and people have water tanks and solar power. Lots of people I know have had dreams where we have no electricity and travel by horse and cart, no cars.....

C: There was an article a while ago, at least two years, where a lady claimed to have seen the year 3000. She described a pioneering life, with no money, no cars or electricity, and complete harmony with everyone and everything. She said there was no knowledge of war or greed. I wonder if there's something in it?

many years of my young childhood, although i donot remember anyone mentioning the word, nor telling stories of "tidal wave", i dreamed of a huge wave hitting. I never got caught in it (was never harmed).

The wave-dreams were varied. One that is vivid in my mind is the one where iam in a large building with a wall of glass. The building is sitting on a very high pier, at the beach and the wave is heading for and at the glass wall. The wave is higher than the glass wall, so it must have been about three stories high. All the dream-waves are this high . . .
iam still waiting for the real thinghiding

So then Baltimore's Inner Harbor should be pouring
down Pratt Street, right?
Isn't happening.
Wonder why?

BULLSHIT perhaps?

The east coast and left coast of America submerged
would be a net gain for America, as long as all the
stinking commie rat bastards who live there floated
to Europe and Asia.

I'm burning all my brush and trash in used motor oil
just on the outside chance I can make a difference.

How do the oceans rise faster in one place?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27473932
...cant happen, common sense tells us that...the land would have to be sinking at the same time wherever they say the oceans are rising the fastest...granted the ocean isn't exactly level everywhere but it wont vary much...

How unfortunate for some rulers when men, women, and children continue to think... Keep repeating the lies loud enough and long enough and just maybe the people will start to believe the lies again and good luck with that...finding your energy open until mars becomes raging aries...

ocean rise- water expands when heated. the gulf and north atlantic are heating up. Plus the melt waters which are coming down from the arctic take time to disperse around the world.

Whats making the sea level rise? Don't say melting ice caps.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1395091

OK. I'll say the Coast is sinking.

Pakistan has sunk 10 feet this year as seen by Nasa's Earth Changes Satelite. They announced it this summer when they could not explain the ( Flooding ) that just would not go away ( Drain ) afterwards. It has made millions homeless this year.

Vietnam is now doing the same thing on its Southern Coast.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19653424

Interestingly, some places are sinking but no other places are rising. OK here's my theory on it.

(1) I believe the expanding earth thoery. Earth absorbs solar energy faster than it emits it, the difference turns to mass (E = mc^2 so m + E/(c^2) )

(2) This added mass is more or less proportionally allocated among all the existing types of atoms and molecules. (This is a reasonable starting assumption since I have no idea what the allocation actually is or how it occurs.)

(3) Hence the amount of water increases the same percentage as the amount of "everything else".

(4) But water is entirely on and in the top crust of the earth.

(5) Now also assume that oceans won't get proportionally deeper by the addition of slightly more water. This is reasonable because there are lots of other ways for water to snake in over the land. It's typically not a straightforward rise along the beaches, but inland flooding that never subsides. It could even appear as a general rise in the water table, creating new ponds where there were none before. (I am observing this in my neighbor's front yard!) This is an assumption about the topography of the earth's surface, statically and/or dynamically.

(6) Now we have the conclusion. The added water distributes itself over the top surface at an assumed constant depth, which has area proportional to r^2 . Everything else has to get deeper, so it adds to volume which is proportional to r^3. Since the water doesn't get deeper, it gets wider and consumes more land.

So even though the expanding earth has more surface area, it's easy to work out that the amount of DRY surface area actually decreases.

Hm, the high arctic is entirely water, or ice on water.

Archimedes' principle says that melting ice floating on top of water will leave the water level unchanged.

The ocean cannot rise on one area and not in another. It's a basic law of physics.

Your an idiot. Go back to school. You havent figured out the earth is not perfectly round.

Please cite the relevant law of physics.

Is it implied by Newton's laws? Quantum physics? Relativity maybe? Semiconductor physics? Gee I don't think I ever learned that law ...

Re: Sea Level Rise Accelerating For US East Coast, Fastest Rise in The World!
This is complete balderdash. My family has lived on the coast of north Carolina for 60+ years. The water level marks on our pier, that is anchored into the earth, has never ever ever changed. Not one iota.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27019535

Interesting!
 Quoting: ****SUPERFLY****

Now if the Earth ocean floor rises...then so does the pier. What I would like to know if the pier has risen above the backyard or been replaced due to busting up.
 Quoting: ****SUPERFLY****

Honestly sir, I have not checked that facet. Did not even give that option a thought until reading your reply and several others regarding sinking or settling. It could very well be possible. I will check with my family and maybe run out there and do a survey one day. I have not noticed the backyard shrinking or getting smaller or anything, but I only get out there maybe once or twice a year nowadays.

Thanks much for the alternative theory.
