EQ? Gas Explosion?? Something Just Shook Houses In Indianapolis!

The lady who owned the exploded house took a plea and will testify against her boyfriend and his brother. She claims she was a victim of abuse and had no choice. Yeah, sure. They also arrested the 4th guy finally and I believe it was based on info she provided after she wimped out.

Still think of this every time I drive by that area which is probably once a week or so as it's not far from my house, mile or two. That night is one of those memories that sticks vividly in your mind forever. Thought a truck hit my house and went outside as did all the other neighbors wondering wtf.

What a crazy thing.

Quick update... the boyfriend responsible for the plan was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison with no parole earlier this summer. Shortly afterwards his attorney claimed that he was being treated inhumanely at the jail in isolation and naked. The jail said for his safety as he was on suicide watch. It's not hard to imagine them being extra hard on him tho. Yesterday there was a photo of him being transferred to real prison and boy, he was hardly recognizable -- very thin and haggard and broken. The others have not gone to trial yet, but the lady is testifying against them all as part of a plea.

Five. Years.

At 11:11 p.m. on Nov. 10, 2012, a two-story home on the south side of Indianapolis exploded with the force of as much as 5 tons of TNT. The blast – the product of an insurance fraud scheme – killed two people and injured dozens of others. Thirty-three homes were damaged so severely they were deemed unrecoverable, and had to be torn down to the foundation. Estimates for the total scope of the damage caused by the explosion exceeded $4.5 million.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Mark Leonard, the man convicted of putting the Richmond Hill Explosion in motion, died Tuesday morning at an Indianapolis hospital, according to the Indiana Department of Correction.

Leonard was convicted in July 2015 on more than 50 counts of murder, arson and insurance fraud for his role in the conspiracy to blow up his then-girlfriend Monserrate Shirley’s home on the south side of Indianapolis. He was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences, plus 75 years in prison.
