off the grid is anyone serious
About doing it or do most of you just talk shit about it and never intend on making it a reality

im offerig to buy land and share it with a few people so that we can make this a reality

i would lime wooded and fertile at least 10 acres for farming and firewood

i will pay for the land in full and still have a few bucks to contribute but i can not do it alonee

i need a few people willing to live the slow and peaceful life

a few farm animals
we could grow crops and small game for market
make cheese
have solar and wind and generally live quietly as life was meant to be

Do you give bikini waxes as a profession

I thin half an acre every four days, people will be your weakness. They will bring you down. Unless your 80 then my appologies.

Thats kool but im lookibg for few people who are fed up and willing to walk away from society and do our own self sustaining micro farm

as stated id be willing to flip for the land in full and still have money for some solar wind and a few other odds and ends

no need to break our backs building either

we could do little one room cabins very simply

could you imagine all the social issues that come with a community of non family members trying to do this?

what happens if someone puts in money towards it then you can't get along with them?
 Quoting: ^TrInItY^

Good point but their money input would be very minimal

as in just for their own building supplies

i would pay for the land and start up buying animals and few tools needed to do the work
all money made from the gardens and animals would be split up amd only whatis needed for taxes and supplies would be used

That's why you build a thunderdome for your off grid commune. When two men cannot live together in peace, there is always the cage. Two men enter... one man leaves.

the more diverse a group is will bring in different skill sets. When i was living in Wisconsin I had the "pleasure" of living next to Hmong, during the winter I watched as the whole family took turns throwing dirt into thier abode. The grew thier food indoors (very unhappy landlord and they ate our dog true story) but the point is the more diversity among a community provides diffrent survival skills that may come in handy. Not everyone can grow food but they may be a killer mechanic.U get the idea

Still need to pay property tax for the land you don't rely own.
For off grid solar/wind you will need a lot of expensive, deep cycle batteries every 5 years or less and you will still need to use propane for heat. Better learn all you can about everything.
Best luck for you.

Taxes are a song on rae land in most states and you can get a cheap solar and wind set up

people are too comfortable and are afriad i believe

propane is an option but wooded land will provide heat also

This!!!! Wow, it'd be hard enough to do with family, but people you DON'T know?! My husband briefly suggested this once, possibly trying to buy a piece of property with other people he worked with and then sharing the land but man, NO WAY!
