Quoting: yI 1.) sugarbusters diet (more of a lifestyle change) 2.) organic if she can afford it 3.) distilled water Sugarbusters will not only help her lose weight, keep it off, but also reduce or eliminate need for insulin. It is a diet designed by four doctors, so there is sound medical advice. The book explains the science behind why we gain weight and how our bodies processes food. Why a calorie in vs a calorie burned does not work for weight loss. It helped me lose over sixty pounds in a six month period, no hunger pains, it just melts the fat off. Leaves you looking toned and ripped. |

- User ID: 27824029 United States 11/17/2012 10:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | While sugars need to be managed the main issue is insulin resistance which is caused by animal fats. Animal fats will cause a major problem. The grains should act as a good fiber tho there are other fibers also. All veggies have fiber. |

AlkaliDesert User ID: 14239828 United States 11/17/2012 10:43 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You can definitely get Type 1 diabetes at any age. It's more commonly diagnosed in children, but can definitely happen to adults, too. My SIL was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 28. However, onset over the course of a few years is more typical of type 2. Type 1 generally has very sudden onset. Type 1 is an autoimmune disease where the body's immune system attacks and kills the pancreas. Type 2 is caused by insulin resistance - the pancreas is making insulin just fine, but the cells can't utilize it very well. Type 1 requires insulin to survive. There is no possible way of eating such that you can entirely eliminate your need for insulin, though you can reduce the amount you need by eating carefully. (A few people claim success by eating diets that stop the autoimmune process before the pancreas is killed off entirely, but this is all purely anecdotal, and you're not going to find much support for that, mainstream or otherwise. Google "autoimmune diet" if your friend wants to give it a try, but if she she still needs to track her blood sugar and use insulin as needed! Just going on the assumption that it will work is life-threatening!) Type 2 can be well controlled, and even reversed, with just diet and exercise. |

Diet and not be a huge fatass the longterm cure.. skiny people do not get diabetes. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27784476 Have you paid your subscription to sweeping generalisation monthly yet? Wow. I developed diabetes at 18mths old. And I wasn't overweight. I have friends who were sporty and fit and developed it. Yes, being overweight can increase your chances but basically ANYONE can develop it. Try reading a book, friend. There is no cure, sadly. Not yet anyway. I've looked into stem cell research which seems to offer a lot of hope. Though that'll never be easily available as there's just no money in curing sick folk. Basically I control it with a decent diet and daily exercise. You can live with this. It just takes extra effort. I hope your friend gets good news. |

She has an appointment tomorrow . Do you know of any natural cures ? Quoting: yI The natural cure is to totally alter the diet consuming mostly vegetable, preferably much raw vegetables. Avoid all processed sugars and consume only occasional natural sugar foods such as fruit. Avoid fats and not too much bread, preferably whole and unrefined. No sugar drinks, water is best. It can take a while but perseverance is the way, it can be done. It does depend on the severity, maybe there is no alternative to medication and a proper diet. |
