Who else here would risk their OWN life in order to save their family pet (s)(dog, cat, horse, etc.)..

I can get a new pet anytime..only an idiot would risk his life for a pet.

Well I know I wouldn't have left my house during Hurricane Sandy without my dog. I couldn't imagine leaving him behind, he's like one of my kids (one of the better behaved ones).

i couldnt replace my dog in a million years. sure i could get another but its like a child, i could have more kids but that dosnt mean they are replaced.

As you could also get a new wife or kids anytime...would you risk your life for them?

I am their caretaker...so the answer is yes. They trust me to give them the best life possible. And I do.

Well one time we had this cat and “ I hate cats” but the thing ran right under my feet so instead of stepping on the little fellow I made a crazy move and broke my toe… lol…. so I don’t care what kind of animal it is I will do whatever to protect it

If I had to leave my little Boo Boo behind, I would stay with him !

I would, my Dog is part of the family.

The thing is it would be natural to try to save him and I wouldn't think at the time my life was at risk, I couldn't stand back and watch him in trouble, you can't replace a personality.

Without a doubt it is kind of like a thing in my family. When my grandfather was in WW2 somehow he ended up on a freighter full of supplies after he was wounded. It started sinking fast and many of the crew were injured plus it was bitter cold. The ship had a bernese mountain dog it was huge my grandfather wounded helped the other men on the life raft let them go away from the ship went back got the dog and he and the dog swam back to the life raft.

LOL, no, I just don't see pets as people...because it's not right morally to consider them on the same level, and in many cases people put them higher than people.

Well, we have two children so they'd come first. If we could save the cat we would, just not over another person.

Absolutely!!! and Ive stated that many times before. She is trained to attack on command and though we have 4 dogs, that are all trained she is the only female we have and she seems to be much more protective than the males for some reason. But none the less they are all our children and mean the world to us.

I would rather be an Idiot, then see a family member hurt or killed, just because they are not human. The other animals were on this earth before man. Just because we don't fully understand them, doesn't mean they are lesser animals.
