Hundreds of protesters chanted against King Abdullah and the powerful intelligence forces in slogans that personally target the monarch and were unheard of before the wave of Arab Spring-inspired protests hit the kingdom early last year.

"Freedom, freedom, down with Abdullah," young men chanted at the main Dakhiliyah square in the heart of Amman as angry crowds denounced the widely expected price hikes....

Elsewhere in the country, scattered protests went off peacefully but a petrol station was burnt by angry youths in the country's second largest northern city of Irbid.

Every middleast country I've visited always had gatherings of men on the street at night. The women and children are inside and they're alone outside. (I had to hide on the floor, of the car, to keep them from seeing me as precaution in the 80's) I think it's just for the nature of their society.

Not really. I travelled during the summer and this was a time when cameras were considered an offensive weapon. Things have changed, but ideals remain the same.

They got the bigger bunch of weapons ever last week.

Not trying to be 'hell' bent, but with their lifestyles, they are outside working/hanging out in the markets, driving taxis all day long. Most of the students are inside and come out at night, but they already have limited electricity so, it could be because they aren't at work or school for their get together schedule.

Yep... It would take a couple of days to read the instruction manuals before you made the YouTube videos... wouldn't want to shoot yourself (again)..

And those are just Islamists whose death notices are on the websites he monitors...

Doubt this 75 per week is true, it's much more, except if he's talking about one specific jihadist group.

He monitors multiple websites...but I can't think all the rebels dying are experienced enough in the Jihadist movement that they would justify a martyrs message...

There are rebels who aren't jihadist - they wouldn't be on the websites.... Then there are all the new jihadists - people who's first jihad is Syria...they wouldn't have a message... Then, you have all the new jihadi organizations that have sprung up.... They probably aren't on his radar....

Then add the fact that probably some of what he translates he's not allowed the release.... 75 from multiple websites could turn into 750 in the real world easily...

He's looking at Tunisia & Libya's Ansar al Sharia websites & AQ in the Arabian Peninsula...sites like that...(and they lost 75 people in Syria last week)

if the mb is going to cooperate with israel, israel would be very save, surrounded by friendly sunni states all ruled by mb.no shiite trouble anymore then

It is unfortunate, but Jordan is one of the freest countries in the Middle East (unless you are a Jew in Israel). Honestly, the only hope for peace in the Middle East is Jordan, Morocco, and Turkey (maybe UAE and Qatar).
