my model 700 in 270 makes me a sniper...copper and aluminum rounds travel father..of course if you must shoot through something or someone to hit the "target" behind,tungsten rounds are better..

OP, it is not a shotgun. It is an AOVDS - Anti-Obama Voter Defense System.

I AM a sniper. That is if you define a sniper as a very accurate marksman that knows how to compensate for variable factors involved in accurate shooting.
Also, If you knew anything about firearms you would be aware more people (and deer) have been killed with a .22 than any other round and in the hands of a skilled marksman is just as deadly a .223 high energy round.

I'll put my 10-22 against your AR any day for reliability, consistent quality in workmanship, availability of and ease of carrying large amounts of ammunition and a kill range and accuracy sufficient for almost all tactical engagements one is likely to encounter in real life other than long range sniping.

Any top half of the head shot with a .22 is a sure and instant death, easy out to 100 yards with a scoped 10-22. Several quick center mass/gut shots with .22 CCI ammo is going to down you and disable you instantly and you'll have seconds to minutes to live, and assuming you are not fatally wounded, your 10-22 carrying adversary can then move in under cover for a carefully placed head shot while you lay moaning in pain.

Your comment deriding a fine weapon as a useless childs toy reminds me of the guy next door that uses a 30.06 with a scope to kill deer baited to a feeding station 50 yards form his stand. Real sportsman.
In my case, assuming my life was on the line and someone was stalking me with an AR or other high velocity center fire rifle and all I had was a .22 semi auto-loader, by the time they see me they'll be taking a round in the forehead and then I have their weapon to add to my collection anyway.

The major point to be made here is that it is not the weapon that is the most critical element when engaging an aggressor, it is the man and his abilities that is holding it.If a man has a shotgun for home defense he has made a very good choice. Take up a defensive position and hold it.
