I am a family doc in a small town in northern Ohio. I admit patients to a small hospital (40 beds) in the next town over. I have been in practice for going on 28 years...so I've seen some shit in my time.

I don't know for sure what's going to happen over the next few years, I'm not psychic.

I seriously doubt that my little hospital will be there in 2 years...they are already struggling...the current CEO is out for himself(that's my opinion). Obama will most likly swallow it up

But there are still a few of us that were called to this profession. Being a doctor is the only thing I wanted to do since I was 10 years old. Despite all the day to day BS I face, I still think I am living my dream.

Despite what all the Fu**heads tell me I'm supposed to do, I will find a way to do what I think in smart and right by the people that see me. There is always some BS you can use that gets the right thing for that particular person.

Don't think I agree with Obamacare and what's going on....its going to be a charlie foxtrot.

Florida prison health care system to cut 1,890 jobs

TALLAHASSEE — Nearly 2,000 state workers are being displaced from Gov. Rick Scott's administration because of the nation's biggest outsourcing of prison health care.

"Due to the outsourcing of this function, your position will be deleted," reads a dryly worded dismissal notice from the Department of Corrections, sent to 1,890 state employees in the past two weeks.

My friends in France hire a private physician off the record because the healthcare is such a joke. Blackmarket healthcare? And it costs like anything to do that but it's the only way they can get adequate care.

Just like people who can afford it come across the border into the U.S. from Canada. Instead of waiting months and months for surgery they have surgery within a week of two in the U.S. Not to mention the quality of the care is far superior here.

Nurse managers do not do billing. I cannot believe you think they are cutting positions because EMR will streamline things! In my area there are already 2 large practices no longer accepting medicare patients. Now why do you suppose that is??? HMMMM??? Also, front page of my local paper last week was an article stating that reimbursement for all surgeries will be outcome based.Stop and think about what that means!To me it means that if you are a poor risk, good luck finding a surgeon who could perhaps save your life because that surgeon/hospital risks not getting reimbursed. This is what the Obama voters voted for. Scumbags.
