PENG User ID: 1159762 United States 11/19/2012 07:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The doctor said it was low-level autism, also known as Aspergers. But Aspergers is being eliminated from the DSM V criteria of diseases, so it is no longer recognized as an illness. Now all there is left is the autism label because Aspergers doesn't exist anymore. I see that you are familiar with the DSM-V...OP, have you diagnosed yourself, or has a doc diagnosed you? Aspergers is a fancy way of saying that you are socially awkward and I don't even feel that it's a disorder. Sounds to me that you are just severely shy and have a hard time communicating w/people face to face. Just work on it..it'll get easier over time. Were you bullied as a child by classmates or family? Aspergers is not a fancy way to say someone is socially awkward. It is a form of high functioning autism. There is much more criteria than being socially awkward in order to make a diagnosis. Autistic children typically have no verbal skills, constant stemming, and a significant learning disability, along with an obsession over a particular object. Aspergers children have difficulty with social cues, higher than average IQ, forms of stemming, obsession with objects such as fans, computers, gears...etc. depends with each child. Aspergers kids are not just socially awkward...there is much more to it than that. I have a child with aspergers. He does have some social ineptness, typically eye contact and not interest in children his age. Would much rather talk to an adult. He has a significant fascination with moths, ornithopters, fans...and does some stemming, such as flapping his arms as he runs around. He is very intelligent with a "superior" IQ. I wish it was just social issues, but not so. Just thankful it is a severe form of autism. The term aspergers only means that they have a less severe form of autism, typically with high IQs. The medical community is supposed to be dropping the aspergers label, and classifying all of these children under autism. I think it has to do with insurance though. PENG User ID: 1159762 United States 11/19/2012 07:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | some decent advice here...hope you can pick out which advice is worth looking into...and yeah....stay away from those flu shots. I'd rather get the flu than deal with the heaps of toxins in those shots. (My son is Aspie, btw. And I do not wish him to be "cured"...he is who he is and is loved for it. His idiosyncratic behaviors are like a litmus test to identify people's truw personalities...if they react poorly to the way my son is, then I know they are jerks, and I don't waste my time explaining a thing. Idk. There are plenty of things about my son that are quirky, but not dangerous....there are more things that are endearing (does not lie - ever. ) than are worrying. So.....point is, you are you for a reason. Quoting: ManifestinMama 6839703 I think exactly the same thing.... I do not wish for him to be cured. He is fascinating. He has extremely insightful conversations and an extensive vocabulary. Aspergers kids though, typically know they are different...that causes my son some sadness as he doesn't understand why he doesn't fit in. I don't label him anymore and he doesn't know what aspergers is. I just tell him he is different, that we are all different, and that the world would be a very boring place if we were all the same. I do wish he had more confidence though. He is very much a thinker, analyzing everything and everyone, very observant which does cause some depression. Love him so much. I am aspie, and so is my son. Not only has this been confirmed by multiple "professionals", but I realized it for myself, and I've got advanced degrees in medicine and biology. Asperger's, or whatever the stupid DSM V new term is, is really a right brained autism, and the left brain functionality is effectively hypertrophied, so we overthink social situations and have no clues from nonverbal interaction. Some of us are face-blind, and not only don't get clues from facial expressions, but might not even recognize a friend or relative in the room. For some of us it's devastating, and especially so regarding sex and relationships. Since most of our right brain functionality is unavailable, sex is the straw through which we can enjoy life. For some of us, no sex is the same as being a robot. Some might try to fake asperger's for their own purposes, and I won't address that. Just imagine living your social life by rote - memorizing what to do and say and then performing these acts/words without much useful feedback from the other people in the room. All we can easily understand is the words - NOT the body language. Kids AND ADULTS on the spectrum need lots of sexual and physical nurturing, and we need to learn how to get this without violating too much social protocol. We can only learn this if we are taught, since we can't evaluate social interaction by watching. |

Urine therapy has a place, but probably not in autism treatment. Just do MDMA per the previous post, if you can get it. It has to be the real thing though, not the crap on the street these days. It has a specific effect that is different from all similar PEA derivatives. |
