Read Howard Bloom's NDE book. He was much like yourself until he died. He was an a hippie athiest art professor. What he experienced scared the crap out of him and now he's a pastor. I pray that you don't have to go through what he experienced before you wake up.

Also the actor, Curt (Curd) Jurgens had a vision of hell. Jurgens was a famous European actor who was able to translate his success into Hollywood movie roles(per ejemplo The Enemy Below) including a role as a James Bond Villian in the Spy Who Loved Me.

I have encountered demons and I know other Christians who have had similar experiences. We are in a state of spiritual warfare and they are our enemy. I have not seen Hell and I hope that I never will, but I have encountered those who reside there and that is all the proof I need.

Your post is actually true and with substantial Biblical support. However, for you to say in the same "sentence and breath" that Christianity believes in hellfire, and yet say that Jesus didn't teach it (and, again, I'm agreeing with you here) is an oxymoron.

So, if I may suggest, just so that it's clear to others... if you refer to "Christians" (as in, those claiming to be Christian) who believe in and teach hellfire as Christendom and refer to Jesus and what he believed/practiced/taught (and those who follow this belief and his model) as Christianity, things will start making more sense and be less confusing.

Christendom has definitely bastardized Jesus Christ's teachings... not only hellfire but (very similar basis) the supposedly immortal soul, the Trinity, etc.

Interesting point. But I recently saw a video by a former navy seal who had a NDE experience and ended up in hell.
He was amazed that his spirit body could experience the same pain as his former flesh body. So be not too sure about the spirit not being able to experience all former human sensations including pain.
