UNIONS - Love Them or Hate Them?

They've had their problems and overstepped some boundaries, no doubt. But I think they've had a net positive effect on America, the economy, and the markets.

It's a shame so many people have fallen for the demonization they've suffered at the hands of big business lobbyists.

Faux News, Repulitards, Paid Shills, Paid off Sites....oh, wait they are all puppeted by the same Koch (and the likes) group.

The problem is that what's good for the workers isn't necessarily what's good for business.

It's a shame that history's being written by the side with all the money and assets (hint: not the workers).

It's also a shame that so many blue collar and working class Americans have been manipulated and turned against their own self-interest by the aforementioned Kochian big business interests and the investor class.

You're ignoring the fact that unions today are THUGS, every bit as "big business" as the corporations . . . unions don't give a damn about the membership . . . they care about the membership's due$.

What I was trying to get across is that the guys at the top of the hierarchy care about their bottom line and their Boards, not the people that work for them.

That's not true of every large business, but it's true of more than a few.

there was a time when unions were helpful to everybody, better hours,pay conditions, etc. then something happened the power got the best of them and now they are out of control. its not just unions getting out of control its also the military industrial complex and the budget which has been out of control for a long time

Unions started off as a rebellion against oppressive working conditions, and as such was a good thing.

Over time, they evolved into horrendously evil extortion rackets paralyzing the public, such as when nurses or police or firemen go on strike, a horrendously EVIL act.

Today's unions are just a collection of greedy, evil bastards who want to destroy the economy for their own PERSONAL gain, and I say God can damn those perverts.

Look, I'll grant that some unions have gotten to be very crooked (ties with organized crime, screwing over any non-union workers that get in their way, instituting very biased and bigoted policies) but I think you're presenting a gross generalization. Without unions standing up for the little people, we'd have American sweatshops.

also in the recent movie The Campaign, the CEOs were looking for a candidate to side with them as part of a plan to profit from illegal dealings with Chinese companies, wanna guess the name of the brothers? Glen and Wade Motch hmmmm that cant be a coincidence

Unions as of now do more harm than good. They can be formed a lot better in my opinion, starting with every member should have the right to vote on things. And everyone's vote counts as one. The technology is out there now for someone to figure this stuff out, the internet divorced of bugs, is an excellent place for unions to get their voices back. And perhaps make a difference for their company.

The CEOs on The Campaign were based on the Koch Brothers. The Republican(this year was Mittens) who was to be their puppet, unfortunetly for them they paid $400 + Million to get Mitt to do their bidding and still lost.

All they focus is $$$ and nothing else matters. The polute our earth and they don't give a shit as long as they make more money.

These people have NO scruples, to say the least!

These are the ones people should fear, but they (Koch Brothers and the like) fill their heads with conspiracy theories so they do not know what is what anymore and in turn believe everything that is being sold (here and else where).
