Daley: Cameras will make us safer

Mayor Daley on Monday embraced a radical plan to require every licensed Chicago business open more than 12 hours a day to install indoor and outdoor cameras.

"Block clubs, community organizations want cameras. ... They can't walk down the street. ... Their kids have to go around a corner away from the gang-bangers. You can't walk to church. You can't get on the CTA. ... Cameras really prevent much crime. Cameras also solve a lot of crime. The terrorist attacks in London were solved by cameras. The whole incident was solved by cameras," Daley said.

Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce President Jerry Roper estimated that 12,000 businesses -- maybe more -- are open for more than 12 hours a day and, therefore, would be covered by the sweeping camera mandate. That includes roughly 7,000 restaurants, more than 100 hotels and scores of retail establishments.

"Are there enough cameras in production to do what they're asking us to do?" Roper said.

The reason why American's don't realize that America is the Mystery Babylon of prophecy is due in part to being brain washed into thinking America is the "great Christian nation." This is due in part to her religious leaders being blinded to the descriptive facts in the Biblical texts. Also, too is the fact that the real religion of America is Illuminism/Freemasonry and it is a "Secret Religion" or a "Mystery Religion."

The Biblical prophecy in Revelation chapters 17 and 18 states clearly that the future super power nation that dominates the world just before the rise of the Antichrist has made the earth (and her own citizens) drunk with her wine of "abominations" (in the original Greek language in which Revelation was originally written the word means "something that is detestable" and it carries the idea of a being foul-smelling, and the word sometimes is used for the passing of gas or "breaking wind" or in the American slang vernacular, "farting."

If a nation thinks they are a super power, then all other powers to them are just beneath them, and so they will only listen to the offensive and defensive propaganda their super power system (in a time of war) will give them. War means peace, and the only way Americans will now feel secure, is if they are at war. So the peace time meaning of the word war has been done away with, because national security means peace, and the spread of democracy means freedom to a nation who must always be at war somewhere on the globe to be seen as the guardians of peace and the protectors of freedom. To spread freedom and democracy, they must spread their war, a war which uses pre-emption and regime change to promote their road map to peace.

Iran to deliver destructive response to attack: DM



Iranian Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said on Wednesday that Iran would deliver an immediate and destructive response to any attack on its nuclear facilities, the official IRNA news agency reported.

"The Iranian air force is able to cope with any aggression, and any attack against Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities will be met with a quick and destructive counterpunch," Najjar was quoted as saying in an air force base in the southern province of Bushehr.

Najjar said it is a great responsibility for the Iranian armed forces to defend the country's nuclear sites, including that in Bushehr.

The minister was referring to Iran's first nuclear power plant, which is being built with Russia's aids in Bushehr and is scheduled to come on stream later this year.

Najjar's comments came as the Iranian nuclear crisis escalated with a possible referral of Iran's case to the U.N. Security Council by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Tehran's threat that it would take retaliating measures, including stopping the cooperation with the U.N. nuclear watchdog if hauled to the security council.

Accusing Iran of developing nuclear weapons secretly, the United States and Israel have said they could launch preemptive attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities if diplomatic efforts to defuse the Iranian nuclear crisis go in vain.

Israel recently reiterated that it would never accept an Iran equipped with nuclear weapons while the United States repeatedly rejected to rule out military attack as the last resort.

Yahya Rahim Safavi, the commander-in-chief of Iran's elite Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, said on Saturday that Iran would react with missiles in case the country was attacked.

"It is worldwide known that Iran has ballistic missiles with a range of 2,000 km...We will never launch initiative attacks on any country, but we will defend our country with all useful means if attacked," Safavi said.

Iran's upgraded Shahab-3 medium-range ballistic missile has a alleged range of 2,000 km, which makes Tehran capable of striking Israel or any other enemy target in the region.

Official: Army Has Authority to Spy on Americans

“Contrary to popular belief, there is no absolute ban on [military] intelligence components collecting U.S. person information,” the U.S.Army’s top intelligence officer said in a 2001 memo that surfaced Tuesday.

Not only that, military intelligence agencies are permitted to “receive” domestic intelligence information, even though they cannot legally “collect” it,” according to the Nov. 5, 2001, memo issued by Lt. Gen. Robert W. Noonan Jr., the deputy chief of staff for intelligence.

“MI [military intelligence] may receive information from anyone, anytime,” Noonan wrote in the memo, obtained by Secrecy News, a newsletter from the non-profit Federation of American Scientists in Washington.

Defense Department and Army regulations “allow collection about U.S. persons reasonably believed to be engaged, or about to engage, in international terrorist activities,” Noonan continued.

“Remember, merely receiving information does not constitute ‘collection’ under AR [Army Regulation] 381-10; collection entails receiving ‘for use,’ ” he added. (Army Regulation 381-10, “U.S. Army Intelligence Activities,” was reissued on Nov. 22, 2005, but had not previously been disclosed publicly.) “Army intelligence may always receive information, if only to determine its intelligence value and whether it can be collected, retained, or disseminated in accordance with governing policy,”

The distinction between “receiving” and “collecting” seems “to offer considerable leeway for domestic surveillance activities under the existing legal framework,” wrote editor Steven Aftergood in Tuesday’s edition of Secrecy News.

“This in turn makes it harder to understand why the NSA domestic surveillance program departed from previous practice.”

Aftergood was alerted to the existence of the memo by another security expert, John Pike of GlobalSecurity.org, who thought that “there is enough ambiguity in the language that with a bit of creativity in managing the U.S. persons files there would have been not too much trouble” applying existing rules to the warrantless eavesdropping by the National Security Agency.
