The reason why the women in my family work is that the cost of living is so high. It is getting so that every woman who works is supporting 2 to 4 women on welfare or SSD. It used to be that a man's wages were enough to keep a family, but now anyone who works pays taxes and fees to the government until July.

That's right, the government takes half of your income, whether you like it or not. So if a guy is giving half his income to the Government, that's only half left for his family. Easy credit has given this country the illusion of prosperity for decades now. But we are not prosperous anymore and weren't prosperous before the financial collapse, either. It was that people were able to buy on credit. If there had been no easy credit it would have been obvious.

Then we have inflation, which has been disguised by easy credit too. The government lies every time they issue a cost of living report, as they have removed food and fuel from the equation, and so those things people really need to live on are going up up up, while the official figures say it is only a fraction of a percent. If the true cost of living increases were published it would be obvious that our dollars buy far less, year by year.

There are plenty of families who are not buying new TVs, new pickup trucks, new furniture, lots of new clothes, new skidoos or boats. They still need two incomes to get by.

Our war on poverty and all those feel good programs are bleeding us dry.

That's why women don't stay home. I know plenty of women who will be glad to when you fellas get this all sorted out.

The main reason I didn't get married and have kids was because I didn't want to have to work full time as well as take care of the house, the family after I get home from work and on weekends. I couldn't do it, I don't know in fact how women do do it. It amazes me and I didn't want to live that kind of hard labor life.

I am a woman and I can agree with it to some extent, at least while raising kids. I think kids do a lot better in that situation as long as she is actually raising them and not screwing off all the time! But afterwards I see no reason why she should not be in the work force, I mean her money spends the same as a his and extra cash and savings does not hurt a family. Obviously a single woman will need to work. I also have to say that I agree with the notion said before that society is to hard on men. I understand that most men like to be the man of the family or at least they used to, but we all can fall on hard times and we all should be able to get a helping hand by society when that happens, not just women or certain categories people.

Why should I have to start taking handouts from the government? I am 44 years old. It was not a short time. That is irrelevant anyway. The point is I am self sufficient and have no intentions of ever dating again much less begging some man or the government for anything whether it puts you on the street or not.
