FACTS ARE FUN This video reminds me of a bizarre fun fact. Did you know cheese was invented on a long camel ride? The story is that someone decided to transport camel milk across the desert and put it into the stomach of an animal for a transport container. Between the heat, the stomach enzymes and possibly the gentle motion of the animal, the traveler found their milk had become a solid yet still tasted good. Somehow we went from camel milk in a skin saddle bag to cheese caves in England and France and some of the exotic flavors we have today.Dear GE has them as well Quoting: Soup Way too many years of home schooling and kids who are way smarter than I am..both my own and some of the co op kids. You should see what the 'unschoolers' do. If you turn a kid loose and let them learn whatever they want? Once I was teaching a class in microbiology and we were discussing fungi and the kids started talking about the networks of fungi that connect trees and how the trees communicate through it and then they talked about truffles and how they were nearly the same as gold as far as monetary value and then they were off and running on fiat currency. Way past me..12 and 13 year old kids. "Violence simply is not radical enough, since it generally changes only the rulers but not the rules. What use is a revolution that fails to address the fundamental problem: the existence of domination in all its forms, and the myth of redemptive violence that perpetuates it?" - Walter Wink |
