I'll never forget the time my grandfather, grandmother, and I were eating a late lunch after a shopping trip into town to Piggly Wiggly and these 4 (presumable) blond college girls came canoeing up the River back to their BSU campus in town.
I looked out of the screen-room/lunchroom addition to the cabin, and saw - and noted verbally - that 2 of them were topless. My grandfathers' eyeballs popped out of his head and he instantly grabbed his cane to go out and get on the pier there to wave at them. My grandmother scolded him for it, and I was dying laughing about the whole event.
It was funny as hell..
Quoting: Grey Eagle My sister and I canoed for 2 weeks in the Boundary Waters and when we came back to the dock at the outfitters a bunch of guys came running down to the dock with cold beers. They didn't think we were gonna come back. lol And we were 17 and 19 at the time. I also camped outside of Ely in the winter and went a really cool night hike across a frozen lake (snowshoes) and we were between two packs of wolves howling at each other..so cool!! Oh, and they filmed some of the skating scenes for this at our junior high. I think I wore out my vinyl soundtrack album. I had forgotten this song. Quoting: drinking buddy I´ve camped in the winter only in the military service. Tents with fireplaces in the middle. Wood burning stoves with chimneys. So, like cheating. lol |

Quoting: waycation Once I built an igloo..it was with other schoolchildren, around 5th grade. It was supposed to be a winter survival thing. As adults we had tents or at least tarps and each other. I suppose you don't snuggle in the military? "Violence simply is not radical enough, since it generally changes only the rulers but not the rules. Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | sseess great to see everyone tonight! Thinking about Grey's summercamp question. I went twice - one was a bible camp in Estes Park, CO. And it was beautiful but we were totally controlled, I think I was 12 years old. The best was a Boy Scout Jamboree and we, as a *medical post* affiliation with Girl Scouts, were invited. But we snuck in a few bottles of Boones Farm wine and sitting in a tent the middle of the night were completely schnockered and got caught because we were laughing so loud. Suddenly fashlights were in our faces - busted! We were shamefully sent home the next morning. Would do it all again in a heartbeat Last Edited by ~Sloane~ on 07/10/2021 08:49 PM |

Hope to drive back to Minn in two yrs and relive old memories in that place. :fireplace:

i have camped out in a tent many many times. I have 3 tents in my cabin here and prolly 4 more back in cali. Sure beats getting eaten by mosquitos when you are anywhere near water and ... bugs! :fireplace:

Quoting: Grey Eagle Plus it usually keeps mice away from you while you are sleeping. Mice love to enter your campground when they smell leftover cooking meals and scraps.. :fireplace:
