Re: GLP-Jukebox
...

Oh yes, fantastic to see you! And sorry to hear about hubby's headache. Hope he feels better. Give him my regards. hf

I bet you had a great time in Maine. Beautiful area there. I've been close to there, Massachusetts, many years ago, during fall. Loved it.

Yeah, a lot of heated discussion on vaccines, also here in Holland and on here. I respect everyone's choices on it. I am vaxxed myself without issues. I took it willingly out of my own choice, not because someone told me. Willingly took the risk and weighing it against me wanting to travel and do whatever I please and not end up in discussions with people who don't even know anything about it either.

But I would never exclude anyone who didn't take the vaccine. I still hug and shake hands with anyone I know and meet. And I do agree, vaccination for kids is ridiculous. And the whole excluding people from work and all that.

Hope the world gets out of this craziness one day and your son will be able to go to Europe without restrictions. We live in weird times. People should not hate their neighbor, but get together to stand up. But the division is real.

Such a treat to see you though! hugs
 Quoting: InterMezzo

To add: We need to try and stick together, even though that is a challenge already these days with so much pressure on people financially.

As for retirement, really enjoying things as much as I can, even though I do need to find something to do. I want to take this year as some kind of sabbatical and then maybe do volunteer work early next year. Something with teaching Dutch or helping out with refugee work. Can't fish the whole year round, lol.
 Quoting: InterMezzo

I get that and respect your choice and that is the point, choice. The fact is the virus that causes Covid19 isn't that bad for children and in fact I think my son had it and the whole family too back in Jan 2020 and then again recently. I agree completely that we shouldn't let this status of vaccinated vs un-vaccinated divide us. My oldest brother took the vaccine with no issues as well. The risk factor tells me not to vaccinate my son because of all of the cases of myocarditis.

I hope that you'll find something that fulfills you during your retirement years. You surely are an inspirational person and I think whatever you do you can inspire people in a really good way!!

I love this song and I love Bob Odenkirk too! Funny video but great song too!

Take care Intermezzo!!!

You are the sweetest for saying that. I think the same of you. You have always been someone with a sane and positive mind. So glad to see you here tonight. hugs

And as said, I agree with the choices people make out of their own assessments. There's a lot of misinformation and fake news on either end and people run with it. That is why I am a strong advocate for needing a pause button on the internet. A week or so.. might work!

I tried that by shutting down Facebook world wide a few days ago, but they were on to me and restored it way too fast.. damn those IT wizards! tounge
 Quoting: InterMezzo

I think the biggest thing is to respect people and their choices for sure and I do respect other people's choices.

I follow a doctor called Robert Mallone on twitter and he has been attacked as mis-information. I feel our US mainstream news is fake news now...maybe I've gone too far but I really do. I feel our government is flat out lying to us and the fact they're pushing this vaccine so hard is really alarming to me especially since the adverse events are so high and they are being completely ignored.

My oldest brother and I are very close and talk all the time and he doesn't agree with me but we still love each other and respect each other. I don't push my opinions down his throat nor does he mine.

But I still am very suspicious of why they are pushing the vaxx so hard that they are ignoring all other facts...
