Happy in Nature User ID: 81071993 Nicaragua 01/21/2022 06:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I live in a cowboy town on the border of Nicaragua-Costa Rica. I have two restaurant options. The owner, son, and cashier of my regular place love 80s music, but bad 80s music (Laura Branigan, Sheena Easton, Boney M). Every once in a while they play the Rolling Stones and Tracy Chapman (IKR?) and surprisingly, half the regulars at the bar and tables sing along to "Angie" (hysterical..I need a video) and "Fast Car" (even though none speak English, they sing in English). Last week they were playing this and there were 6 35-60s cowboys singing along. |

Awwww I LOVE Boney M I have heard "Rivers of Babylon" at least 100 times in the past four years. My other favorite restaurant by the border crossing likes to play their own 80s compilation CD every time a white person appears, which is usually just me and a friend who lives nearby. Rivers of Babylon is at the start of the CD and then follows Ebony and Ivory and precedes "My Girl" because one bad 80s duet deserves a second shot on the CD. Feliz Navidad, That's What Friends Are For, The Wind Beneath My Wings, and some Air Supply top off the playlist. Last Edited by Happy in Nature on 01/21/2022 07:15 PM |
