Let's talk about the love of the internet!! I heard this song ONE time when I was a teen and loved it...and looked and looked for it....back in the day in record stores and couldn't search lyrics.....I never found it needless to say.

I love this song...

This thread has made me think about how blessed I am that my parents played so much music for me growing up.

That is so true. Both of my parents loved music and listened to it quite a lot as I grew up. I don't particularly love what they loved now but as a child I loved music and I loved their music. There is still one song I can't find....it's an old blues song that was a remake..hey lolly, lolly, lolly, hey lolly lolly low...I can't find the same version my parents listened to....oh well.

I have my mothers vehicle, after she suffered five mini strokes and she can't drive anymore and in her car CD I found her Elvis and Beatles and some country music she liked. I cherish the memories of the music they shared with me.

My mom had this on a 45 when I was young and it was one of my favorites.

Ha, yeah. Mine don't really like my music now, but they do try! (My mother was a Deadhead, so she better be open-minded, dammit! lol)

Oh, and the only version I could find of the song "Hey Lolly Lolly" was the Woody Guthry one. That's not the one you're looking for is it?

That's awesome that you're mother was a deadhead!!! You're probably years younger than I am. I was born the very last day of 1966! Gettin old over here.

No, that's not the version but thank you for looking. I cannot find the version but my parents had it on a 45 and it was much faster than that version...I could sing it but you can't hear me :)

I loved that song and used to jump up and down on my bed to it when I was a kid in the 70's.....damn am I really that old? lol....

I have played music from the time my children were born and I payed attention to what they enjoyed and my first born loved Enya and Charlotte Church, though he would deny it now. My taste will span from Black Sabbath to Neal Diamond..lol.

I have two children and they both are music lovers as well, my oldest is really into David Allen Coe...which makes me laugh because I had a uncle (glp styling) that loved David Allen Coe as well. My little one is still meshable....

This is the song my oldest is currenly into....and indeed I loved it in the day....when he was a wee one he really loved the Doors a lot too...
