Re: GLP-Jukebox
For the Capt and his excellent thread

We do not learn from history because our studies are brief and prejudiced. In a surprising manner, 250 years emerges as the average length of national greatness. This average has not varied for 3,000years. The stages of the rise and fall of great nations seem to be:
The Age of Pioneers , The Age of Conquests ,The Age of Commerce ,The Age of Affluence ,The Age of Intellect ,The Age of Decadence.
Decadence is marked by: Defensiveness, Pessimism, Materialism,Frivolity An influx of foreigners The Welfare State A weakening of religion. Decadence is due to: Too long a period of wealth and power, Selfishness Love of money ,The loss of a sense of duty.
The life histories of great states are amazingly similar, and are due to internal factors. Their falls are diverse, because they are largely the result of external causes. - Sir John Glubb The Fate of Empires
We are at the end of the Age of Decadence heading into COLLAPSE

Empaths are highly sensitive, finely tuned instruments when it comes to emotions. They feel everything, sometimes to an extreme, and are less apt to intellectualize feelings. Intuition is the filter through which they experience the world. Empaths are naturally giving, spiritually attuned, and good listeners.

Good morning Emerge. And waving to all grouphug

Mostly considered a blessing, but it can be a curse. Feeling every emotion, wanting everyone to be pain free, in heart and body, only to realize that you can't. But that doesn't keep you from trying.

I don't know. I feel emotions, energy, both positive and negative. From ecstatic highs to deep sadness lows. Some consider what I share and try to achieve (making people feel better and get some positive energy and love back in society), like on here, fake. It leads to anger, jealousy, attacks, people leaving, camps forming, negative karma. I can not change that. I wish I could.

Does it touch me? Yes, it does in an intense way, like I know it does others as well. In plain English, it sucks. All I can do is try harder and prove the opposite, from the heart.

I am not out to hurt anyone. Connections between people are what they are. Some are intense and lead to friendships for life. Others just float by. It is what it is. When I post, I don't just post. I say and mean them straight from my heart, from emotion, from what and how I feel.

We all have flaws, say things, do things in our enthousiasm that are noticed and felt in a both positive and negative way. In that respect internet fora are like glass houses. Does that make us less human? Not in my book, it makes us more human. It belongs to us.

All that we can aim for is a society where people feel safe and recognised and hope that more people will follow that example in making this world a better place for all.

edit: Anyway, don't mean to derail the thread. Just on my emotional talking chair here. : )
