For the last 3 years of HS I took surveys/polls of rock music and rock groups. My irritated teachers didn't exactly approve of me doing that, though. Guess which band was on top in my school for 3 years in a row? I think Rush was at #2 for at least 2 of those years.. :fireplace: "Remember when we used to treat colds and flu with chicken soup, saltwater gargles and warm tea instead of Communism?" |

The good old daze.. Rush and UFO were the top 2 for me, followed by Skynyrd and Led Zep. Then Thin Lizzy, Boston, Foreigner, Scorpions, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Foghat, Outlaws, Eagles, Ted Nugent, etc... No Doors for me in HS, surprisingly.. :fireplace: "Remember when we used to treat colds and flu with chicken soup, saltwater gargles and warm tea instead of Communism?" |

I saw UFO in Chicago one time and the enthusiasm and energy of the audience was nuts. And the English lads (and Michael) were pretty good, I guess.. Strangers In the Night was my most-valued album. Michael Schenker had godlike-status, even/especially back then. :fireplace: "Remember when we used to treat colds and flu with chicken soup, saltwater gargles and warm tea instead of Communism?" |

I have all that on vinyl...sounds good That's great. Yeah, vinyl still sounds better to me. And others. As long as you have a clean amplifier and a good cartridge and stylus/needle. I had a Garrard turntable and a Realistic 14W AM/FM stereo amp One year out of HS I was in college and hard-up for money, so I sold most of my vinyl album collection - and my red Ventura electric guitar and amp. I needed money for food and gasoline. Times were tough for alot of us then. :fireplace: "Remember when we used to treat colds and flu with chicken soup, saltwater gargles and warm tea instead of Communism?" |
