Sounds like another victim of a selective industry that can promote artists to stardom or bury them in plain sight. At least he's getting credit now. Thanks for posting that, MoN.

Probably my favorite Rodriguez song here....

re-read the last post and search for his documentary. Fuggin awesome. He got screwed out of profit from 500 THOUSAND ALBUMS SOLD... his record label didn't inform him, or pay him for his popularity in South Africa ( during the apartheid ) . He sold less than 50 albums in his time in America.. and he lost his record label. They robbed him so hard, yet he remained the most humble dude..

Bowie put out some really bizarre shit during his last years. Well, more bizarre than usual. I find it easier to stick with stuff I know lol...

His story reminds me of Nick Drake.

Nick Drake wasn't really ever known until after he passed away, and also quite humble I believe. I suppose history tells us that there are many people through the ages whom are largely 'unsung' during their lifetimes. For example, during his life, Vincent Van Gogh only ever sold one of his paintings. He sold his "Red Vineyard at Arles" in order to pay his rent. I often wonder how many weeks rent he could have earned if he tried selling his "Sunflowers" lol.

Maybe it's always been that way... that some of the best artist are people without the "spotlight" on them. That was a very good song, and i've never heard of Nick Drake.

I honestly like the random music from people off youtube, more so than i do the radio. We have so many talented musical/folk on this rock... Most aren't given the ears they deserve.

Here's one of my favorites from college. A lost band that had so much potential but broke up eventually...

That was very good MoN, very good indeed.

There was a band here in the UK called Boy Kill Boy. I had the absolute pleasure of watching them live back in 2004/5 in Sheffield, England. Well, soon after I was very sad to hear that they had split up after only releasing 1 album. They were hardly known, but they were really good.

I think this is still one of the best album-ending songs i've ever heard.
