When my aunt (the cool aunt, who rolled her ultra long hair on juice cans to give it body and went braless in our super uptight midwestern town) worked at K-tel records, John Kay took her on a motorcycle ride around town. She's still the coolest aunt ever, but I will remember that event every time I hear this song.

I was scared of acid..had big academic plans and saw some scary things happen. But I was talking to an intergenerational group of writers and discussing how old we were when we first tried weed. As a child of the 70s, I was 11 and meeting a neighbor kid in the woods nearly every day after school to get high. Same for another person same age, but the older and younger crowds both talked about being in college or even later years.

I did LSD before I had ever been drunk or smoked pot or anything. I was 15.
