Everyone i knew back then used to watch this show each week.

Years ago, people's commonality was more apparent and obvious, as most had a certain amount (of things) in common, TV-wise, music-wise, sports-wise, lifestyle-wise...

Before many bought cable, we only had the 3 big TV networks, and then a few UHF and PBS channels and 1-2 independent local channels.

Life today is more like living in a big big city - versus that of a small town back in the 70s and 80s..
