Did you know cheese was invented on a long camel ride? The story is that someone decided to transport camel milk across the desert and put it into the stomach of an animal for a transport container. Between the heat, the stomach enzymes and possibly the gentle motion of the animal, the traveler found their milk had become a solid yet still tasted good. Somehow we went from camel milk in a skin saddle bag to cheese caves in England and France and some of the exotic flavors we have today. "Violence simply is not radical enough, since it generally changes only the rulers but not the rules. What use is a revolution that fails to address the fundamental problem: the existence of domination in all its forms, and the myth of redemptive violence that perpetuates it?" - Walter Wink |
