Re: GLP-Jukebox
I still instinctively turn up the volume each time this older hit song comes on the radio or stereo..

Back then I just wanted to move off to Arizona or New Mexico or SoCal...

There's just something mysterious and intriguing about the hot dry desert Southwest...

(Not to mention how great it feels in January...)

You ever driven a lonely backroad off the Interstate into an old near-ghost town out in the desert? ...

No but it sounds intriguing to say the least. Did you & did you go out & investigate & wander through any of the abandoned buldings Grey Eagle <3. cheers

No, not YET... not lately, anyway..

I do remember a few ghost towns in the AZ and CA desert that i passed thru back in the 80s, exploring places no one really visits or goes by any longer...

It was a lonely place, just the wind and a few creaking dilapidated old 40s and 50s signs and abandoned buildings and businesses relatively preserved there in the dry desert air..

Same with some desolate mining and stage-stop places along and near highway 395 leading up to Bishop and the High Sierra..

I supposed it wouldn't be a good idea to explore them on your own though just encase of taking a fall through a floor or other mishap. There is a certain ambience to the desert areas of the US that has a mystique about it.
Cheers for the memories Grey Eagle <3. hf
