Yep. David Garrick with a stage name of Byron. His voice is...well I must be remembering it from Uriah Heep. Thank you for looking that up for me.

Saw somebody do that once to a tree going real slow. Hoping for insurance bucks. Some bad karma I'd say. Isn't this song SUPPOSED to be a bit of foreshadowing of the plane crash? GLP type of thinking.

Not sure about GLP-foreshadowing.. Perhaps..

Allen Collins and Ronnie van Zant wrote that song about Allen's own crash and also Gary's car crash one bad weekend down there..

It was (I think) Ronnie's way of telling them that they had better be a bit more sober and more careful in their substance abuse habits. Or they might not be playing with the band much longer....

Another one hit wonder. My son lives there. He's a chef in a high-end restaurant on the riverfront. Not a good place to be at all right now.

Always has been a really sad ending for the original band members. Watched some show on maybe AXE TV--fucking sad.

the only foreshadowing I'm aware of is the 1977 street survivors album cover with flames, then re released after the crash with no flames.

Re: GLP-Jukebox
Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin both passed on the old 1947 Convair twin-engine plane that Skynyrd leased in 1977, I think it first was..

that plane had a few serious problems and two sketchy pilots, also. It especially had fuel gauge- and fuel-delivery problems, and it actually caught fire in one engine/wing during that fateful flight in October of 1977 going thru Mississippi..

Cassie Gaines or Jo Jo Billingsley was scared to death after a bandmember had had a bad premonition of impending disaster. Ronnie - tempting fate - talked her out of aborting that flight ... and it ultimately cost her her life (Cassie not Jo Jo).

Sad.
