The non believers and haters to this idea are sure militant in their hatred for it.
Lets say the idea is utterly false, in terms of any greater conciousness behind these little microbes.
What is still true is their presence and occupation of every last square millimeter of virtually every last thing on this planet. Even places and environments 100 fold beyond the parameters of what could sustain human life are populated by microbes. Hot thermal vents in the bottom of the sea for instance, and even raw chemicals that are poisonous to us have microbes adapted for living in them.
Therfore, at the very least, DNA is the most pervasive and present "thing" living out there, since anything alive contains it.
If there ever was a vessel for our thoughts, prayers, hopes, and intentions to be carried around on, don't you think this "DNA matrix" in which we literally live, would be the thing to do it? And, well, since the microbes are our most prevailant, adaptive, and prolific foot soldiers in the DNA grid, it would only be sensible to postulate that they do a large part in "spreading the vibe", if you will.
