Problem capturing video on laptop; anyone got a clue?
The guys fixing it have none.

Just had my Sony HC9 video camera fixed (needed a new mounting system).

Cleaned the heads.

When I try to capture from the device, it comes across as "crackly".

ie black lines in the film, jumpy, and just not usable.

But when I play it on the cameras 2 inch screen, it is fine.

Tried two diff video editing programs with the same result.

New firewire cable, recorded a new tape with same result.

Laptop has no issues with anything else, and it has captured from this camera before hassle free.

Cables fit tightly.

???

The repair guy has it now and cannot seem to get the same result.

So it seems to be my computer, but what about it would do it?

must be port on pc or where you connect your firewire to on your camcorder if both corder and lappy play vids fine by themselves
