After the law was passed I asked HR what our company would do if it were legalized in our state. He said that it would still be against company policy, and still be grounds for termination if it came up on a random whiz quiz.

One of the conditions to be employed here is a drug screen before you even get in the door.

Anyone from Washington work for a company with random drug tests? What are employers saying?

My opinion:
Cannabis is in the urine for a couple days, then in very micro amounts. It should be enjoyed on weekends ( Friday Night, maybe Saturdays...)and avoided after work when working the next day or two.
Most random drug tests are before employment, then unlikely but possible during employment. After 2 days minute amounts show up on a urine screen, but with it legal, a person could have had "unintentional contact" and it will be argued in court that minute amounts in a urine screen wont constitute a basis for termination....
... Also, even now the drug screening people wont ascribe trace amounts in the urine as a fail on a test. Talk to medical people that do these tests. Plus know your companies policy.
Laws will change within a few years protecting moderate cannaabis users. Reform has begun, but will take time. everyone wants to see real world how cannabis will work, so like I have said before- Dont be a martyr for a reefer
