It'd probably start out with just one guy with one gun and a middling rank. Quoting: Leslie Zevo but by right they weren't born there so they would have shit on the new kid Wouldn't matter. The guy with the biggest gun makes the rules. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9266723 ... No, the first human born on mars does not own the planet. but no one else lives there or could say they were born there. I think his right woukd stand up in court the kid would win.... he would be the only living Martian... |

I think his right woukd stand up in court the kid would win.... he would be the only living Martian... Colonization rights would win out. As colonists, reporting to the United States of America or the Sino-American Alliance, or whatever leading space faring government would be in existence at the time, Mars would still be property of that country being held by the colonists as long as they remain true to their government. Think of it as Colonial America. When we still reported to the British. Of course my own feeling is that if we ever colonized another planet, after awhile our own natural course of action would be to do exactly what we did here: Rebel, and stand alone as a sovereign planet. The distance between planets would not allow for a long distance power center. Just like with Britain and the Americas. Which is possibly why the US does not look into Colonization. |

Not a lot there to "give away" or "own" as I see it. Perhaps one, with an extended life span could do something with it, create and watch a new genesis, yet to take thousands there it would seem it would end the same as what was left behind, many voices crying so loudly none are heard. |

How would these people get to Mars without the help of others? Especially since a person being born on Mars would mean that they have done enough to the planet to allow habitation. 2. After America was founded, the first born there most certainly did not have any rights to the country. There is no difference between the two examples. 3. Why in the world would you think of such a ridiculous question to begin with? |

All she ever talked about, ever wanted to do, was go to Mars. She is just the right age and has, so far, received just the right training, to be one of those chosen in 2025 or so to go to the Red Planet. And so, theoretically, she could be the mother of the first child born on Mars. Very long shot, of course. But, you know. Could happen. Quoting: Spine monkey |
