Question for Americans about gun ownership
Hi. I am a non-American who might be going over there on business. Is it possible to rent a gun for self defense while I am there? Or buy one to sell back later or throw away before I leave the country? Do they sell to non-residents and non-citizens? I know how to shoot and have done so before.

You would have to narrow down the state the state you will be living in and how long you will be there as all states have a residency requirement.

You won't need a firearm unless you are coming here on shady business. 99% of American do not carry a weapon. Also you would not be able to carry it concealed unless you get a permit.

Buy a Kimber pepper blaster. You've got 2 shots of liquid OC fired at 90mph. I saw a video of a guy who took a shot to the face. He couldn't open his eyes for a good 20 minutes.

No, if you aren't a citizen you won't pass any requirements for a pistol, or regulated arm.

Maybe you'd get a shotgun if you had connects.

but the answer is still 99% no.

You may buy a firearm out of a newspaper from a private sale then sell it at a local store/dealer. This is what the mexicans do. Otherwise it takes a state ID (drivers license)
and background check only citizens can pass.

There was a sign at the local grocery store the other day. The butcher was selling his shotgun. Private sale like $250. Good for home defense or hunting turkey!

If you try to get guns from Criminals like Eric Holder, you will likely end up in prison as a chump for their agenda.

Legality is in the eyes of the Holder, Eric that is.

Do Not torpedo innocent friends or merchants by lying to them to get a gun.

You are welcome to come and stay.(I thought all of youse guyz were martial arts experts)

You can rent one at a shooting range but you can't take it with you, At least in Texas you can do this,, just show them your passport, you might be able to buy a hunting rifle or shotgun at Walmart or someplace similar but a handgun will require registration.

Your citizenship, unfortunately, is from a conquered people.

Cease the attempts to be a citizen of the first world and embrace your position as a subject.

If anyone wants to carry, that wouldn't be any business of yours. And just how do you know that he is coming here on "shady business" if he wants to be armed? Why and how do you conclude that?

Depends on what state he is in. 4 state have Constitutional carry,no permit needed for concealed or open carry.

Maybe 99 % in your area don't carry, bit of a stretch to say 99% of all Americans. In fact that is a rather stupid assertion with no basis.

The point isn't that he "needs" a gun. He wants to have the means of self protection apparently. Surprisingly you don't get to decide for what reason or why.

Earned? How? You mean the human right of self defense rests on some bureaucrat giving permission? Or do you have to be born in a certain place?

Why do you even think you can ask "why do you feel you need one"?
