How about how animals know when their owners are sick? Stories of animals staying by the side of their owners till they passed away. Also, I remember a story of a woman who had a pig as a pet. She had a heart attack or stroke and the pig squeezed through the doggy door and had scratched up his sides they were all bloody and he got the attention of the neighbors and that is the only reason the lady is probably still alive. We take them for granted. They even see more than we do into the spiritual world. Ever see your dogs or cats staring at nothing and barking and meowing at thin air? Yeah, makes you wonder what they are seeing that we cant.

Yes! I believe they see the spirit of loved ones and we can't. lol

I have a friend who consulted a medium when her 17 year old son died in an auto accident. The medium told my friend things that only my friend and her family knew about her son. On one visit, she asked my friend if she remembered the time, which was a few days prior to one of her visits, that the family dog was barking at "nothing" and running in circles. The medium told her that her son's spirit was present in the house, and the dog knew. My friend and her family did not.

Stop anthropomorphizing. I use to shoot squirrels and leave them on the railroad tracks. I would wait for other squirrels to come pull them off the tracks. It was not to save them, they were eating the dead bodies I left behind.

Animals do mourn. End of. I had 2 rabbits as a kid that were sisters and best friends for life even if i let them out to run around they didnt leave each others side. When one died of old age the other stopped eating completely. She had to be put down cause she wouldnt eat i put that down to the fact that she was upset that she lost her best friend and it didnt help that i had a holiday booked a few days after the first died and i cameback to the news that the second had stopped eating and had been put down it was heartbreaking for me. too_sad

If you don't think that non-human animals are capable of feeling, you likely haven't been paying enough attention.

what are morals and ethics ?

they are only what we have been shown as right and wrong by primary and secondary influences, just because you don't agree with what someone says doesn't make them wrong, am I wrong for being right or am I right for being wrong when I am right when I do something acceptable to myself and acceptable to society yet on the over side of the world I can be seen as doing it wrong as it goes against themselves and their own personal opinion
 Quoting: Anderson_G

There's an invisible line of humanity we all should possess and not cross over.
It's not okay to torture animals nor is it okay to be a pedophile for instance. But according to your defense, it should be okay after all, those are only opinions and prerogatives too even though they go against my own.

Maybe not as severe as the scenarios I presented above, looking down on animals is somewhere of the same mindset.

We as a species should have reverence for all living things. THAT should be instinctual.

I'm not saying to worship them nor not eat meat but to have this superiority complex over whats weaker, is not humane. It's arrogant and apathetic and according to our psyche, that is not normal.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29150242

now that is what I was expecting... about the torture and pedo's for one pedo's deserve to be slit open 1000+ times and frown in a cesspit, I don't agree with anything thing like that nor to the torture of animals either....

but from what I had put you can see how this kind of behaviour is acceptable to others.....

for example some african nations believe that having sex with an infant will cure them of AIDS I personally would feed the bloke a 9mm aspirin but to there society its what they see fit as acceptable.....

I see behaviour and actions of my dogs as both of instinct and emotion, I mean look at operant conditioning for example.

My mother in law was chased by a squirrel, it was on a psychotic streak as the local lads in Camden dropped some drugs running from the police, the squirrel found them and chased everyone for around 30mins then died......

had me in a laughing fit for a long time

Re: I just saw a squirrel trying to pull a freshly ran over, dead squirrel off the road with its hands.. made me sad
I had an experience once that I will share...

I had just arrived at my beach house when two young, wet boys knocked on my door.

The told me that they had found a baby seal on the beach and that I should help.

I told them that the mother seals will leave the babies on the beach while she hunts for food.

When my assurance of the seals safety was accepted by the boys, they left.

Not a few minutes later I see a bald eagle swoop down on the baby seal, talons extended.

The seal jerked up startling the eagle just enough for it to stop and land beside it.

As I stood there I thought to myself, "Oh no, I just told those boys this seal would be fine, and now it's going to get killed in front of me."

Suddenly off the left of the house came a crow.

The crow landed between the bald eagle and the baby seal.

As I watched, every time the eagle would rise to attack the seal, the crow would rise in response blocking the eagle from the seal.

This went on for over 5 minutes and I snapped a couple of images.

Eventually the eagle gave up and flew off.

What an endearing story, Seer!

Thanks for posting your experience, and pictures.

hf

I also see it as a good sign, as if to say 'See? I'm right here now, on top of it! I KNOW...so don't worry. I'll make certain the Eagle flies the better path"

something like that....

Edit!
I just realized that SOMEHOW I've gotten my threads mixed up, and wound up on this one by accident...which hopefully explains my odd response.

And yet, I get a feeling that this may not have been an accident.

The thread I THOUGHT I was responding to is this one: Thread: does anyone else see this as a sign?

Rather than delete my comment, I'll consider it a sign...and let it stand.

Strange, but true.

Re: I just saw a squirrel trying to pull a freshly ran over, dead squirrel off the road with its hands.. made me sad
I had an experience that made me rethink squirrels....I have a home office with a window that overlooks a storm drain in my yard....as I was working, I noticed a stray cat looking down the drain to be chased off by a very aggressive squirrel...this repeated a few times before I went to investigate...

When I went out to look, I realized the cat was looking at a baby squirrel that had fallen down the roof's rain gutter and trapped under the storm drain...the mother squirrel was chasing off the inquisitive cat.....

I went and got a screwdriver and started taking taking off the drain's grate to free the baby....I was surprised when the mother squirrel sat next to me and watched me work....she was about a foot away and looked very concerned....

Once the grate was off, she reached down and pulled the wet baby out and up the tree they went....as I was replacing the grate, the reunited mom and baby was happily chattering away in the low branch and both stood up and waved at me....

I laughed so hard, my wife came running out to see what was going on....
