...

Monkey, what do you mean by the Latin Rite? SSPX or do you
mean you attend the extraordinary form of the Mass, the
Tridentine Mass?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20541213

I'm a Latin Rite Catholic who attends a more traditional form of the Novus Ordo Mass. Our Parish has the extra ordinary form but i don't attend.
 Quoting: Monkey Breath

I am confused, we have two, the Novus Ordo Mass and the
Tridentine Mass. Are you saying there is a third, a more
reverent Novus Ordo Mass?

You are dear, I am not wishing to argue.

In my city, yes, there is a more reverent Novus Ordo Mass, the Holy, Holy, Holy is prayed in Latin, etc. It's also the diocese center for Divine Mercy.

Mary
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20541213

Yes our Novus Ordo mass is very reverent. We have all the bells and incense of the latin including Kyrie in Greek, Gloria in Latin and Sacred Music. I will link the Parish. [link to louisville-catholic.net]
 Quoting: Monkey Breath

Thanks! Neat and different, the Kyrie in Greek.

I attended with my family an Irish Dance Competition quite
a few years ago in Louisville.

Re: I am a catholic apologist... ask me a question
If the Church is the body of Christ, how can there be division in Christ?
 Quoting: Monkey Breath

Many are just regional churches or denominations. Sometimes liberalism such as women pastors causes a split. Other times the enemy comes in and causes this, or even founds a church.

What we are not to have is universal unity with wickedness: "be ye separate". Rome has unity with witch doctors, voodoo, Islam and much more.
 Quoting: - 29002615

We have unity with Islam. LOL never heard about the Crusades?
 Quoting: Monkey Breath

I've got an answer for everything that comes out your (supposed) "non-Catholic" mouth, Monkey Brain:

Re: I am a catholic apologist... ask me a question
The books of the Bible were complete and in use before the close of the first century by those early Nazarene Christians long before Rome ever became Catholic.

Who wrote the NT books and when?

[link to carm.org]
 Quoting: - 29002615

Where is historical evidence for this claim? If this Church is the one Jesus founded, I want to be in that Church and no other.
 Quoting: Monkey Breath

It's all there how we know when the books were written and by who.

The beliefs of those Nazarenes are known as well and they were based on the Bible and found in many today. The Protestants was a getting back to the Bible. Christianity is based on the Bible. So no Church is needed. We dont follow any man on earth. Men will always let you down.
 Quoting: - 29002615

Links to any of this historical or scholarly information please.
 Quoting: Monkey Breath

Monkey Brain...

Is there ANY limit to your idiocy? And biblical ignorance?

Do you ever do ANY research or study of your own?

Any? Any at all?

Why do keep expecting others to hand you an education in a box? Even when they DO, you completely IGNORE it.

Personally, I think your best bet, is just to hold your breath for about 10 minutes. Rather than keep going through having to defend lies, and not picking up ANYTHING along the way, except Catholic church indoctrination.

That's really got to be rough.

Re: I am a catholic apologist... ask me a question
Where is this Church today and what are there beliefs? thanks in advance.
 Quoting: Monkey Breath

What an idiot.... lol.

The body of Christ is the "church".

Where are they? All over the world.

What are their beliefs? SOLA SCRIPTURA.

Unlike you, their beliefs are based on scripture ONLY. While your beliefs are based on traditions and Babylonian paganism.

Jesus is our heavenly Priest.

Your "Priest" (pope) is just a fallen, sinful man, usurping the role of Christ here on earth.

The Roman church is a blasphemous earthly counterfeit of the REAL thing, placing ITSELF between man and God. Jesus ABOLISHED the priesthood, when He died on the cross. He is the ONLY mediator between man and the Father.

For an earthly priest ("father"), claiming to have the power to forgive sins is PURE BLASPHEMY. For a "man of God" to bow before statues (idols), or pray to anyone other than God (like dead saints), is pure sin.

That's why the Roman church DELETED the 2nd commandment. The one forbidding the worship of, and bowing before, images and idols.

Re: I am a catholic apologist... ask me a question
"Who do you say I am?" Jesus asks us, as he asked those first witnesses. If these people are the honest, healthy people they so obviously show themselves to be and they say-in fact over 500 of them say (1 Corinthians 15:6)-"We saw the Risen Christ", how do we answer? The sanest answer was given by C.S. Lewis in Mere Christianity:

A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic-on a level with the man who says He is a poached egg-or else He would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse"...

+ + +

rose Protestants, you don't agree with people who refuse to believe Jesus is God our Savior. You believe.

How did you come to knowledge of Our Lord? Only one way, by the RCC. Everything you know of Christ comes from the RCC less the Old Testament prophesies about Our Lord.

Disbelievers, agnostics, atheists would say to you, you believe some insane teachings, no way are they possible about your Jesus.

It doesn't make sense, why do you object to and reject so much about the faith, RC.? Even saying, Christ didn't establish a Church!

If the Great Warning takes place next Year, you'll smile at your objections now. Sad, pride and our free will, there will be those, non-Christians too, who will not say "yes" even when God shows them. Pray for conversions.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20541213

Absolute nonsense. All of it.

No amount of explaining where you are wrong ever seems to have ANY effect on you people. It's an absolute waste of time. Your Roman catholic indoctrination simply runs TOO deep.

Hey, you just go ahead and keep praying for people to join with Babylon, while I keep praying for people to COME OUT OF HER.

Just as long as you don't ever revert to the old catholic way, of trying to FORCE people to accept your unbiblical errors. As long as you don't try and take over this country with your BS, we'll get along fine.

There are currently 6 catholic supreme court justices, so I don't know how much longer we have. But my advice to you, is to study the BIBLE, and to stop following the most blasphemous antichrist system on earth, into perdition.

To all catholics

I have a question

Are you aware before Christianity came to Rome they were into paganism.

Are you aware what they winded up doing is plaesing both sides and united paganism along with Christianity.

Which is what still exists even to this day.

They pray to saints. Including the saint of death who looks like a demon. Skulls and skeletons and so on.

They pray to Mary and who knows how many other virgins they pray to.

Which is why true Christians escaped from Catholicism and were persecuted even thrown to the lions in the colliseum back in the days.

They call these priest Father when the lord says call no man father.

In the bible nothing is ever mentioned of a Pope but they pray and kiss him and love him as if he is lord.

Do you guys not relise that your being lied to. And are sheep who follow a stranger who leads you to be slautered. Instead of following the true shepard who is Jesus Christ. Follow his teachings, don't be ignorant or gullible to follow a man. But follow only what Jesus Christ says he will give you spiritual knowledge and understanding. Don't follow something because it's your custom or tradition but follow the truth.

Re: I am a catholic apologist... ask me a question
Judge lest ye be judged...I think it's counter productive to argue amongst ourselves regardless of the denomination we choose or have been raised in. It weakens the Body of Christ.
I have personally been in a Catholic Church, Inter-denominational and have been raised by a parent who was raised as a Jehovah's witness, so I feel I can speak on this to some degree.
My faith is deep. I feel connected in my soul to each and every catholic (small "c" denotes the Church universal, the definition of catholic) passed or living. It's just how I feel.
I love God the Father, his Son, my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ so much, I yearn, to be in His Holy Presence. I call upon the Paraclete, the Holy Spirit, daily to guide me and my family in our thoughts, words and deeds.
I am not perfect. I am a sinner, but that does not diminish how I feel and how I try to practice my faith daily. I have to dust myself off every morning and start anew. I could not do that without Christ's Holy Sacrifice on Golgotha.
I personally look to heaven with hope to share in God's Glory with all my Christian brother's and sister's some day, possibly soon. On that Glorious Day when all division is past we shall sing God's praise regardless of which church door we walk into on our day of worship. Of this I pray.
Let us rejoice in Christ's victory over sin in this Holiday Season and not be divided.
God's Peace and a Merry Christmas to all hear on GLP.

The Church in Rome began with Apostle Paul and Peter. The church in Rome was heavily persecuted for 3 centuries, they buried their dead underground, worshipped underground, died in the Colosseums. With the Edit of Milan the persecutions came to an end and Christians were able to come out and worship openly. The seat of Roman authority moved from Rome, during the reign of Emperor Constantine to the city in the East, Constantinople. The Church then became the dominant force in the West.

Those Christians thrown to the Lions were the non pagan Christians you call Catholics today. Catholic Christians brought an end to the killing in the Roman colosseum. Actually it was one brave soul who stood out there alone and condemned the practice, who finally brought an end to it. Ignatius of Antioch very spot of Martyrdom is marked with the Holy Cross.

Well the very name of Abraham means Father of Nations

St. Paul called himself father.

Transubstantiation does not so much matter to me as it does you. My understanding of the RCC is that the RCC considers transubstantiation the main focus of the mass. To me...if somebody calls themselves a member of the RCC, then the most thorough understanding of transubstantiation is necessary...to the RCC member could there be anything more significant? Doesn't one go to confession...so that they can go to communion? Don't the "Last Rights" include communion?

Now responding to your theological answer of yesterday and today...

Do I need to respond to your thoughts of yesterday? That the flesh was from eternity...for brevity I am going to assume that today's response is more in line of what your thinking would be. If I am incorrect in this, please let me know and I will respond to the "flesh from eternity" concept...sorry, I put in quotes, because I don't know a theological name for that concept...even if there is one :-)

First, I will give a brief synopsis of my understanding of the video and then my response..

Synopsis: The flesh and blood are converted "generally" during mass. There are two schools of thought...one stating an instantaneous conversion of bread to flesh and the other school saying that the conversion takes place over two parts...first bread to intermediary state and then intermediary state to flesh.

My response: This appears to be a belief that the flesh of Jesus in the RCC communion is from the present. If so, then there are problems with this belief. The creeds (both the Nicene and Apostle's) agree that Jesus ascended into heaven. Acts 9 records Paul seeing Jesus in heaven...and Paul is blinded by the experience. Revelations 1 describes Jesus as a presence so powerful that John is as if dead from viewing Him. I refer to Acts 9 and Revelations 1 as they are evidence to the changes detailed by 1 Corinthians 15...that Jesus as the first fruit of the Resurrection has taken on spiritual flesh. As noted in 1 Corinthians 15 the earthly flesh cannot take on the spiritual flesh (the mortal cannot take on the immortal). It can't be that the RCC communion contains flesh from Jesus at the present time.

As for posting in another forum or somehow communicating with Hahn or anybody...it is not imperative to me to do this, but, I would think that to any RCC member...there is almost nothing more imperative. Transubstantiation is the focal point of the mass...isn't it incumbent upon you to have the most full understanding of it as you can? How can you fully explain the focal point of the mass, if you yourself do not have full knowledge of the subject matter?

Regards,
AC
