The fact that they place children into a home with two men and call it parenting should frighten everybody. It is essential for all children to have a 'female' motherly figure for nurturing and care during their most indelible years. I am referring to the law as given in the old testament.

we never made a big deal out of sex in general with my kids - it is a part of life they'll learn about sooner or later - better from their open, honest, non-judgmental parent(s) i say. if they asked questions, they got straight answers that they could understand based on their age.

really, never censored their tv or movies too much either. it's the sheltered kids that tend to go wild with drugs and teen babies and whatnot.

we never acted weird or secretive about it and mine are all sensible and well-adjusted teens to young adults now with no weird hangups or learned hatred for anyone based on sex, religion, race, etc.

people are people, everyone's different. and that's ok!

When they are 10 and under, tell them it means "happy". They don't need to know anything about homosexuality yet.

If they ask when they are 11 or 12, tell them it's when two people of the same sex get married, and leave it at that. That's all they need to know at that age.

Tell them the truth in detail if they ask when they are teenagers.

If we had tried to get out of it, our kids would have known. This sort of thing is talked about in school. They have had a pair of sisters as class mates who were adopted by a couple of gay men.

I think my kids have to understand that gays are people too. In fact we know these sisters and their gay parents, have been over to their house several times.

But on the other hand I will not leave out the dangerous parts of the typical gay lifestyle, that is, HIV and AIDS. I tell them that when a dick goes up an asshole, the asshole cannot stretch enough and so it tears, causing a risk of HIV infection.

I would infinitely rather that my kids be grossed out by this now, than that they get exposed to HIV later.

And gay people, fortunately, are unable to prevent me from telling my kids this.
